We had a good turnout for the Overland Corner Hotel RTE on Saturday 29th April, and even poached Ppopeye from Victoria on the weekend of the Vic Port Fairy RTE. Some of the Adelaide crew met on the northern outskirts of Adelaide and rode together, with a compulsory stop at the Truro Bakery for morning tea.
Overland Corner is a little historic pub in the backblocks of the SA riverland. Originally set up as a watering hole for drovers and overlanders operating between New South Wales and the Adelaide Colony, it also served as a temporary camping ground for steamers passing through on the River Murray, which flows a mere 600ft from the hotel. The historic building was erected in 1859, and since that time has served as a staging point, a general store, a police station and even the local Post Office. See

The weather was fine, if not a little cool, the conversation flowed freely before, during and after lunch, and a lovely day was had by all. Riders drifted off to find their own ways home, and Chris and I arrived back home at around 7.00pm after a lovely 520km day. Thanks to everyone for making it such a social and successful day.
