The new guy.
« on: January 20, 2018, 10:08:27 PM »
Hello good people.

After a few years on all fours I have returned to two.

I bought a bike for commuting as the traffic from home to work is horrendous.  I test drove my ST1300 and it was the best ride I'd had, ever.  I now say to people, the best part about going to work is ... going to work. Haha.

I live in the western suburbs of Brisbane, work on the north side.

I'm looking forward to going on a group ride and having a chat.

My bike is an '08 Silver 1300. No mods ... yet.

Bernard.

Greetings Bernard,

Welcome to OzSTOC, the guys ( and Girls) know a thing or two about the bike and various mods, and arent afraid to pass on their hard earned knowledge.

G'day SlowRider, welcome to the forum :hatwave
Hopefully you'll be able to make the next RTE :runyay

Check it out at the following link: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=12385.0

RTE = Ride To Eat

A location and time is named and everyone makes their way there to meet up, have a bite to eat, chat and check out bikes and the modifications made to them. 8)

Some people make their way there at their own pace and meet up with everyone at the destination :runyay
Other people prefer to ride in a group, they'll ask if anyone wants to ride in an informal group and pick a location to meet up then ride to the destination. :runyay :runyay :runyay

*NOTE*
All QLD RTE info can be found in the Queensland section of the forum ( http://ozstoc.com/index.php?board=25.0 )

I look forward to seeing you at an RTE when you can make it :thumbsup

Cheers

Yes, the dunning kruger effect is strong in some. That is... sometimes the stupid are too stupid to realise they are stupid. Haha.

Plenty of ST Owners here in Brissie- you often see them among the traffic.  I lane-split on mine, but beware the mirrors are very close to the wing mirrors on cars.  Oh, and watch your head on those big truck mirrors!   :crazy
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
