Time for everybody to come out of hibernation now the weather is warming up.
Surely we can find some completion to help play.  :Chocies

Mate,

At this stage we'll call it a big piece of fruit. I have plans to pick up a number of photos to have in store when I do the Wall to Wall ride next week. As a bit of a theme, I intend to make a number of small detours from the Pacific hwy, mainly to break up the monotony of the concrete strip. I have palns to go down through the Hunter and pick up 3 more and then down through Macquarie Pass. I will be meeting up with Tackleberry at Heathcote and we will be doing the last stage to Canberra together. Return trip through Singleton and drop in and see the kids at Warwick on the Monday before I get home.

Feel free to keep the thread moving. I should have something by the end of the trip to cover most categories. If no one adds anything, then I will periodically add something myself.

Let the fun begin.      :think1

Great grab mate.

You could also post this pic in "STs in front of BIG things" too - looks like you'll OWN that thread in a few months!       :rofl

By the time I get back from Canberra I should have another 11 official "big" items and a couple that may require some poetic licence, but worth a laugh none the less. I'll hold off for a bit when I return just to give someone else a go. But both threads seem to have lost favour for now. It was good to see STellar back and running on all cylinders.

The problem I have with the giant axe is, if it's unique then it requires participants to ride to a specific location to tag it.  That's a different game called Far Tag.
The idea here is to propose a generic item.  It might be obscure or rare, but not unique.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

The comment listed was that it was a cryptic clue. The challenge was to guess what it may be associated with. The intention is not to go to that exact location as this would be unrealistic. It appears that some people are taking this too literally and not being involved for the fun side of things.

Might need some clues with this one. *starts thinking*

was just gunna stick my axe on two sticks and take a photo of it, but I think there's more to it than that.

The clue was entered as being cryptic to add some fun to this thread. In the same vein as the previous photo of the Avocado, being called a piece of fruit i.e. a topic associated with the photo, but not necessarily the exact item.

The photo was taken on my trip to Canberra last weekend and I have just got around to processing them, therefore I did not consider them to be from an archive. If that is a breach of the game, then so be it let me know and I can withdraw the submission.

For those who want to pursue the clue, think of where the item is normally found. Clue: not in suburbia, and then consider how this will lead to another tag.      :think1

The item is an axe, but it can be associated with other pastimes or activities. That is the cryptic part. I will acknowledge any guess that fits the three categories that I have in mind.

Ok I'm up for this...I say let the photo stand... I think I know what's need to be able to get this

For sure the photo should stand. As Sean said it is a fresh photo, and being cryptic gives us some creative license on what's next. Challenge accepted.

There is no problem with the photo standing  :thumb

we are just trying to avoid photos that where taken 12 months ago being used, the idea is to see what you have to go and find, and do so, like when it was the fruit i was going to ride the 200 odd km up to gayndah to get a photo with the orange up there  :thumb

I think Sean found a great tag! i have no idea where i am going to find a giant axe though....

That was my problem too.

But we're both missing the point.  It's a different game to the one where you take a photo of an object with your bike in front of it.  This game involves guessing the solution to the cryptic clues and then taking a photo of whatever the solution is.

Agreed, I am not to worried though, i think it makes the challenge interesting, as the photo tag challenge has been a bit quiet, I am thinking that if we look at the theme of the photo and put our minds to work we can find something.... :thumb

Well think of the Axe as a monument to forestry...

That's how I'm thinking of it as... so it's a symbol... so the next tag could be a statue of a Saw blade etc...

(If I'm wrong.... I need to know, before I head off in that direction)
