The West Oz inaugural Double RTE on 24 June 2012.

Meet Scarp at about 0900, and eat his company snags (Coromal Vans 1531 Albany Highway Cannington ) then head off at 10:00 for lunch at the New Norcia Pub.

More of an option "B", as Scarp cant do the ride, so maybe the ride can do him... go to him instead.

If anyone wants to sleep in and make their way directly to New Norcia then they can.

For me its on the way,( in an odd misdirected sort of way ) after all, Cannington is between Joondalup and New  Norcia :grin :grin Isnt it??????

If it's the one that doesn't fit over the Oxford Heated Grips it's no good to me Mal.................I just received mine this morning, may have them on by Sunday (Yeah, I know. I take back everything I called you for having them last week :spank). You got me thinking :think1, I ride my bike 365 days a year, why do that with wet, cold hands?

What is that Throttle-lock you have now? Have you fitted it, does it work ok, where did you get it from and now much? Might have to get one.

Perth: 142km 1.45 hours

Perth Via Coromal Caravans (Drop in and See Scarp at work): 166km 2 hours 10 mins

The Proposed Route if you want to come with the group is to meet at 09:00 at Coromal Caravans (Coromal Vans 1531 Albany Highway Cannington) for a Sausage, leave by 10:00 arrive at about 12:00. can kill two birds with one stone

As you all know I won't be going to New Norcia due to work having a special Sunday trading day, I really apprieciate that you are all coming by to say hi, just want you to know that I'll be running the Parts & Accessories shop on both Sat & Sun & I'll prolly just have time to say Hi back (l but doubt I'll get time for a photo).
Those that have come by while I've been working will attest to that, normally on a Sat I don't get time to stop for lunch (Humm? actually that's everyday).
I have been told the Sausage sizzle will start about 11.30 not sure yet if I can get them cooking earlier, not sure how this will affect the plans

Looks like another ride / event I'll be missing out on.  :(
While my ST is safely in a locked away in a garage down in Port Kennedy - I'm in SE Asia having a look / ride around the place  :thumbsup
Currently in Sai Gon, just got back from a week in Phuket and a couple of days in Bangkok.
Thinking of heading off down to KL for a few days to a week soon.

Gotcha................ We've not going to be there now. We've now organised a secret rhondraview meeting place.

It's so secret nobody knows were it is, not even me. I'm going to write it down with my eyes closed so I don't know either, and then on the day I'll look to see where it is and I'll ride there but I'm not going to tell anyone and you've got to find me (cause I might get lost).

Then we'll all have a wonderful day and there will be much rejoicing.

The plan for Sunday (its looking like great riding weather by the way) is to meet at the Caravan place at 0900, annoy Scarp for a little while, and head of for New Norcia somewhere between 0930, and 1000 at the latest. A run up the Great Northen, ( may be stop for a quick coffee at Bindoon) and lunch at The New Norcia Pub. Dont forget to
1: fuel the bike before leaving.
2: Wear OzSToc shirt
3: Bring Money
4: Bring a camera

Compared to earlier in the week it is going to be swelteringly hot! ( I went to work when it was a whole 2deg the other day! ) :fp

Just took the ST out to fill it with petrol, check the tyres and have a sausage courtesy of Noel (thanks Noel). Parking is limited in Coromals yard so suggest we park in the shopping centre next to Coromal on Perth side and the same side of Albany Highway (southern side).

It was a good day.
It started with a meet up at  Cannington to eat some of Coramal Vans Snags, Thanks to your Bosses Scarp...

8 Bikes turned up, and one called up sick with a sore arm..  Still waiting for that forged sick note from your Mum Ray..

We set off a little late, and ambled  at a steady legal pace down to the roe Highway, to Midland and along the great Northern to Bindoon, where we stopped for the obligatory coffee at the Bakery. Just as well, as Malcolm had to stop off and fuel up along the way (guess he forgot rule 1:- Fill up the day before a run or at least ten min before depatrure) Dave Roper stayed with him just to make sure he didnt get lost..

After coffee, we headed 50Ks north to New Norcia braving the tripple trailered trucks arriving at the pub at 1215, for a formation park.. A few photos taken, and inside to order a meal. The Steak Sandwiches were excellent.

The only thing that slightly marred the day was some clown who rode his bike through a pedestrian area, who locked his front wheel with the brakes and went down. What we didnt realise at first was that he pinned a little girl under the wheel. Fortunately her only injuries were a nasty fright and a scraped leg. The girls grand father wanted to gut the rider ( quite understandably )fortunately everything soon got back to normal..

After lunch, and an enjoyable period of swapping lies, people started to head of for shopping or home.

The mug of the month award goes to a nameless person with one nut who left his/her heated grips on and flattened the battery. Luckily there was a good down hill slope for roll starting the bike, so a test of the newly installed jumper lead system wasnt needed.

I covered 352.5 Ks for the day, used 19.31 Litres of unleaded 91, at a cost of $26.25. Consumption figures, 50.94 MPG, or 17.9 Ks/Lt or 13.18Ks/$ .Bike is fueled and ready for work tomorrow.

Yeah - great stuff guys - thanks for sharing Brock.

Roper probably gets called too many names each week to bestow "Volts" on him at this stage - so we might let him off with a warning!

Sounds like a great day out - and full of adventure - well done everyone.

Nah, I was in front with two other white bikes behind me. The traffic did part quite well for us, their manners were quite amazing..

Because I was in front, there will be no bikecam of the trip cos nothing to film... :|||| :||||
