Road ReportBOM weather report was reliable for once, heavy rain through early morning, no sign of easing, so headed off in the car around 9:00am, a couple of local detours and on the Freeway by 10:00am.
Road had dried, sky cleared by the time we go to Phillip Island, stopped at the Chocolate Factory. Whilst sipping a hot chocolate, I spied Rex & Debbie, they sat, we chatted.
Rex mentioned detour via the Inline Four Café, after a
Cooks' Tour, we found it. Whilst it was closed for renovations, our host Marcel showed us around inside. Rex and I nodded and agreed, this is an RTE destination in the near future.
Arrived at Cowes just after 1:00pm, Terry (Pinkteflon) & Cheryl were waiting. All six of us had a great meal, a couple of beverages, and talked and chatted until 3:00pm. Time to depart, Terry & Cheryl went their way, Rex, Debbie, Helen & I went for a walk.
Normally, I wouldn't write about someone buying a hat, but Rex's new hat is worthwhile writing about, and I hope to a have a pic to post one day.
Helen and I had one more detour to make, so we headed for Traralgon via Wonthaggi (glad again we were in the car as it pi55ing down, really serious it was), visited
not too well friend, and headed home.
Twelve hours and just under 500km for the day.
Thanks to Terry & Cheryl and Rex & Debbie for their company.
Cheers, Helen & Michael
