Ewen McGregor
« on: November 04, 2013, 09:20:32 PM »
My wife works for Shire of York, today she received a phone call from "Ewen McGregor" re organising a bike event in York.
I don't have any further info at this time but will post up when it comes to hand.

So at what age does this "old enough to know better" kick in?

It may not be who you think.  I have ridden with a fella by the same name many times who ironically rides a KLR650. I bought a set of soft panniers from him and bank account name matched. He organizes a lot of trail / on off road rides. If it is THE Ewen McGregor then count me in too and I will contact Ewen.

THE McGregor spells his "Ewan".

Might just be a misspelling by the Missus.  Mine can't spell either.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

If he's the Ewan of the Scottish variety - the person my wife blames for me wanting to ride lots - we should give him a free life-time membership to OzSToc. I do recall his dad was riding a red ST1300 at the start of Long Way Down.

I seriously considered changing my plans for Middleton as he was filming in Kalgoorlie at the time.
