Title: ST1300 decals
Post by: JuST Peter on June 25, 2012, 09:50:39 PM
At our inaugural national rally I took a borrowed tank bag and didn't notice the magnets were so close to the surface of the material and ended up scratching the tank too deep to polish out and as we have a panel shop onsite, the manager, who is also a keen biker, has offered his services to repaint the tank, but where can I get the Honda decals from?

p.s. it was nice meeting you on the weekend

The ones on this site from the US look like OEM part numbers

A little cheaper here

http://www.discounthondaparts.com/fiche_select.asp?mfg=Honda&partnumber=17511-MCS-D70ZA (http://www.discounthondaparts.com/fiche_select.asp?mfg=Honda&partnumber=17511-MCS-D70ZA)

But the postage will kill you at about $50. Not knowing your year 2010 was what these were for.

Proabably cheaper to buy local in this case.

Maybe one of our recent member "Stickerman" might have another option  to offer.

If there is a decent piece of artwork available, then Stickerman should be able to make something, or I could see if my Son could run a set of at his work. ( In a reflective black would be cool, black in the light and high vis white at night....)

Alan, I've just checked both sites, and yes, the postage is a killer, but appreciate the effort you've gone to, to help.

Good thinking Brock. I'll scour around for some artwork - might even repaint the bike  :13Candy to make the black stand out  :grin

Peter, I will check with the local dealer who is doing a clearance sale on OEM parts, as they may have catalogued some stickers by now.  If there are any I will let you know.

Thanks John. I appreciate that

Unfortunately they have given up cataloguing the stickers as it is not worth their time.  There are three small boxes of them, with a few wing logos and other things.  I will write down some part numbers and have a rumage, and if there are enough of interest may just make them an offer for a whole lot.  As my bike only has two wing logos on the tank, I could use some more.

Thanks for all the leg work, John. If all else fails, the panel shop manager has said he can get the graphics made up locally if need be, so whichever way it goes, it's still a win/win situation.

No go I am afraid for any ST bits. However I did get a pair of Honda wing logo stickers for the tank off a CBR900RR.  The colours are not a right match but I will use them somewhere. The size also seems to be a fraction bigger than the ones on my bike.

I can scan them in if it would help anyone getting some made up, as the colours and size can be easily changed.

This is only a thought and probably not possible
But what about taking a photo of the decals and scanning them into a puta and using some art software that can adjust sizes and colours.
which then can be used by some one like Stickerman.

ok going back to sleep
