1100 screens as at 21/1/13 500mm
« on: January 21, 2013, 09:53:14 AM »
Went looking for a new screen  st1100   500mm with cats eyes and black trim
Prices posted
Bike quip in the UK                A$154.60

This is the one I had before, well fitting, quick delivery, easy to talk to if needed.

National cycle, v stream        A$144.58
No vents or  black trim, cheaper on ebay than factory web site.?? item no 230903120301

Eagle screens                         A$265.

Why are the locals so dear???   First eagle trashed by bird smaller than the recent event.
Then eagle semed to have changed hands and one could not speak to anybody.
Replaced with another eagle only to have it slide off the bike when fitting HID’s and break in half.
One would think that it would survive a sliding fall, not dropped straight down on edge.

has anybody tried anything else with success or perhaps more important for others those which failed

Hi Paul,
Try http://www.screensforbikes.com/ Screens For Bikes, my custom screen was 170 odd, and made how i liked it, Peter who owns the business is a very nice man, you can contact him on 03 9469 3192.

he is MUCH better to talk to than eagle screens, and his pricing is very reasonable to

cheers

The eagle screen I have come across don't seem to fit the ST1100 properly down the bottom.  I do however like the shape of it and the winglets at the top.  Bike quip seems to get good reviews from owners.

I just reworked my Eagle screen because of the bottom fit. used a dremel thingy with a cutting disc to remove the excess plastic and drilled/reamed the holes to suit. I will not be getting another Eagle screen, difficult to contact even though in Perth.

I contacted screens for bikes, re 400mm screen for my 1100, reply was standard sizes only so I cut down a spare eagle and cut cats eyes into it.

This is the screen I bought from David Silver Spares.......part number PSCRE-EN -ST11LIT current cost just under $90 plus postage and is 5 inches taller than standard.

The clear one, same size, same price and part number PSCRE-EN -ST11CLE

The screen on my bike.......this one is tinted.  Does what I want it to do. Negative....after about 18 months I had what seems like hairline cracks appearing in the screen where the bend is between the cat eyes. Thinking the type of plastic might not suit our climate. Installed November 2010.
