Doing mine tis afternoon. $8.00 for the Honda oil.

I use the full synthetic castrol stuff, as I also use it in the cars. Uses hardly any. Honda don't give a change interval, just like my car says for the life of the diff, but I change very once in a while to ensure that the diff life does what it is told!

No problem......brand not to important as long as you meet the minimum 80w spec; 80w/90 is a plus and ok for car diff as well.

Thanks Alan. The level is low, so I though I may as well change the oil while I am at it.

Another question on the drive oil. There is no washer on the drain plug. I read somewhere that this is optional. It does not appear to be leaking. Should I use a washer or not.
What quantity of oil should the drive take?

Make sure bike is on centre stand when you check the level and when replacing the oil. Best to go for a short ride to warm the oil up a little before draining. Correct level is the bottom of the fill plug or more like just as it start to drip out of the fill hole.
I'm not sure on the 1300 about the drain plug and/or washer

I just had a look at the parts list and as in the 1100 there is an o ring that looks like it might go in that location

Ok, There is an o ring on the filler cap but it appears that the drain would of had a crush washer.

I forgot that one......just says 14mm washer ---- same as the 1100
