Gavo,  I used these type switches to operate my HID\PIAA's and 4-way flashers.

Yes ths blank space above starter

A nice rocker switch too

Tried the one with LED light but too many terminals.

Any other items that require to be switched will go elswhere , this one will get regular use so needs to be close to thumb so to speak.

The first switch i melted trying to solder and heatshrink the connections ,so i did away wjth the LED and went for the plane black. Also less terminals to deal with.

Same as
http://www.ridethatbike.com/ST1300/ST%20HANDLEBAR%20SWITCH.htm
Just a rocker type of the shelf item at Jaycar

The cutting and fieling a rectangle hloe was the most painfull part

The 90 spade connectors needed a little shortening along with the spade on the switch i also used rubber insulators for the terminations

Hi Rob,
I have a pair of spots that I've been walking round and round the bike trying to decide where to mount them. I have considered the mirror covers but was concerned that they may come off under the extra air pressure at speed. Looking at you photos it appears you have somehow mounted them to something under the covers themselves. Did this mean cutting the covers? Would you please elaborate on the way you have fitted them and if possible with photos.http://ozstoc.com/Smileys/default/thumbs.gif Also I note you have mounted them below the mirrors, whereas I was thinking above the mirrors - is there a reason for this location?

Thanks,
Wayne

The genuine light brackets are above mirror mount. The price ranges from $135 to $150 each. Depends on which STealership you talk to. Most times they are ex Japan.

The below mirror mounts are usually Motorcycle Larry or MCL.
Try here.  http://www.motorcyclelarry.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=339

If you mount under the mirrors, you will have to cut a small piece out of the underside of the mirror cover. A template is supplied, so no hassles.

HIDs (spreads or euro) no longer DIHs mounted over mirrors giving a better throw and LED spots on the way for under the mirrors on the MCL brackets
