Hi guys, following on from my seat install I have now started on the electrics of my police 1300.
My alarm system. This is not an expensive unit - it is a "Motorbike Anti-Theft 12V Remote Control System Security Alarm Siren" as sold by thirgearau on Ebay. It is the fourth one I have now, on 2 bikes and 2 cars, and have found it to be a good piece of kit at a price of $22 plus postage.
Installing on the police 1300 was very easy - on a standard 1300/1100 I would say it is just as easy except you have to run a live wire from the battery.
Photo 1. Is the contents - the remotes have; alarm on - alarm off - sensitivity adjustment - panic alarm - and find your vehicle beeps!
Photo 2. I found an unused relay and took the main feed off this as it is not switched off by the ignition. Earth was into the relay earth line.
Photo 3. The electrics all in place. I have not used, at this stage, the amber wire which detects 'hot wiring'. The green wire is the remote aerial.
Photo 4. Finished job. I placed the controller in what I think is the tool roll holder and the siren behind it on the plastic mud guard.
Tested it by turning it on then giving the bike while on the stand, a light nudge - and the alarm went off - then reset - yeah!
Just a question; can anyone tell me why there is a rubber battery strap just in front of the seat release going from left to right????
Pirate. :wht11

IIRC, it holds down the prop used to hold the tank up when accessing the air filter.

Nice install Pirate, thanks for sharing :like. Looks like a decent kit for 25$. Could you post the eBay site you bought it from please, might be a project to do while I'm off the road🤓

I'd be interested in one too.

I thought the rubber strap was to hold your tool kit

Could be on the ST11. I thought the tool kit went in the well at the back of the seat (where the wheel arch curves down).

Thanks for the post Pirate. Mine has arrived. Can't wait until the weekend to install it. There has bedn quite a few bikes stolen lately so older bikes are vulnerable without alarms. A blinky light would help but this siren will do the trick I expect. :blue11
