For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I didn't understand the one about shrink tube.

Probably because you do electrical repairs and tasks in the correct order.  For others, like me, it (probably) has meaning.

I take it to mean that once you have soldered the wires together you cannot put the heatshrink tube over the wires. Yep, done that plenty.   :||||

And I take it that your post means that you're smarter that BG because you understand the meme, and he doesn't, OR he's smarter than you (and me) because he hasn't made that mistake.

I've not made that mistake.  But I didn't understand the meme because I didn't know what shrinktube was, and that it required heating.  Done plenty of soldering in my youth though.

Done it more times than I’d like to admit.  Seems there is a fix for that little problem these days:

My other next-most-favourite trick is assembling a plug onto a cable, screwing up the terminals onto the conductors nice and tight and then realising that I’ve forgotten to put on the strain relief and cap.  :fp

Yep, that's another meme in its own right.
There are just so many ways to go wrong in life, and so few that are correct!    :'(
