ST wont start
« on: October 07, 2019, 06:57:46 PM »
Hello fellow ST owners, have not been here in a while and hoping for a few ideas to get me back on the road. Bike has been idle in the shed for about 6 months while my new knee joints repair. Been starting it regularly and its on a battery tender. Then left it for about 4 weeks, went to start it and it ran rough and spluttered a lot. Then stopped and would not restart. So Drained fuel, put in a set of plugs and put fresh "go juice" in the tank
Started and ran ok. Went for a ride (5 km) put it in the shed ...week later and it runs rough and now wont start again. Smell fuel...has spark, but spark not hugely convincing?!
Any ideas as to what I could check. Been through all the connections and fuses etc. Lights on the dash are normal. All sounds are normal at attempted start up. Just no combustion!
Any ideas would be much appreciated. Only 24K on it ...and its a Honda. :)

Try jump starting from a car, the battery may be on the way out.

Have used in tandem with a decent battery charger with "start mode" turns over energetically, was wondering if a volt drop was in evidence when cranking and the ECM etc was not happy. Good idea. Will give that a go. Thanks for your reply.

Is your kill switch knocked off by any chance?
