Sump pan for ST1300
« on: October 08, 2018, 02:06:14 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I have just gone and stripped the thread on the sump to my 2005 ST13.
Does anyone have a spare sump pan laying around that I could buy off you?

Naturally I'll pay for postage to Sydney.

The Honda option is $250, new
David Silver Spare 49 pounds + postage.

A Melbourne Wreckers just quoted $125 + Postage

Rather get it locally, and cheaper naturally.

Thanks in advance

It shouldnt be too hard to repair, drill out the hole and fit a helicoil.Even weld the hole up , re drill and tap.

Thanks Brock.
I am a little handy but I a\have to admit at not having that skill set. Yet.
Not to mention the tools.

I ended up getting the sump from Melbourne after all as I am getting desperate to get this bike on the road. I bought it in January and it has been on the table lift since then due to lack of funds and even worse, lack of time for getting all the maintenance done. And there was a lot that needed to be done.

Bunnings sell Helicoils, I think they come with instructions, might be worth repairing the old one to gain the experience and as a spare or sell?

Be sure to keep the old sump as one of us will be able to repair it.
Good luck with getting the bike back on the road.
