OK.. Honda have pretty much forgotten to update the ST1300.. BUT.... This has to be one of the coolest cruisers around.. I wonder if we'll see it in Oz.

Looks a bit too much like a Victory.  Can't see the Goldwing fraternity liking it.
However, $21000 for the top model in USA.  Wonder what they would cost in Oz.  I'll bet it's getting on towards twice that.

I will be one watching the F6B witth great interest.  This would be a great piece of kit to do some big miles on. With the recent price drops in the Goldwing pricing maybe this was the plan.

30 litre tank is an improvement on the older Wings.

In profile (without checking the specs) it looks to be the same as the 2013 Wing, just different seats, cowls and no top box.

I don't think the tank size has changed. The 6.7 gallons is US gallons, so still a bit above the 26 litre mark - I don't know what the usable capacity is.  The Goldwing spec is 6.6 US gallons - wonder why the difference?

my 2 bob
looks like a victory or any 1 of the top of the range cruisers out there

i think with the vfr1200, this  is honda's direction for our types

the 1300 will probaly die a slow death sales wise
but the smart money will stay on the 11  and13's

The Goldwing F6B, is basically a Goldwing, with the topbox removed, screen cut down annd more importantly - reverse gear removed !!!   saving about 69kgs in weight.   Honda aren't targeting new buyers from the 'Traditional" Goldwing school but a compromise between the traditional and new age buyers.

The VFR1200, as I said earlier is the future of motorcycle manufacturing.  Look how many versions of the same bike now.  One vehicle platform.
A VFR1200 slips off the production line every 90 secs then it is separated to a different line for final make up, either the tourer, sports of cross tourer.

Quote:
Design critic Stephen Bayley has also been quoted as saying “It may be a shock now, but in future all bikes will become more visually sophisticated. The VFR1200 is the future now.”

It IS sad, but the days of the ST1300 are in their twilight, sales are low, there is a huge amount of competition from other manufacturers including from Honda themselves with the VFR1200.  Saying all that, I've heard that the St1300 will die since 2008, and yet it is still here, which is great in my book.

I read somewhere that the F6B is Honda's response to Goldwings being modified to become more of a bagger tourer.  So Honda now sells them one from new.

I think Honda have seen the popularity of stripped dressers in America and want to get in on the action. I think they'll sell a few to the yanks, those who loved their Valkyries will flock to it as well. I wouldn't mind having a ride on one just for the fun of it. I wonder if Rising Sun Honda will get one in for a demo... might be a good excuse to ride to Townsville.
