Yesterday I fitted the Antenna and today I fitted the radio.

With the size of the radio I had to be a bit creative as to where I mounted it.  Finally decided to mount it on the lid of the right hand pocket.

The bar across the back is aluminium extrusion left over from the kitchen installation.

To mount it on the back of the bike I used 2 of 8 mm x 80 mm Stainless steel Captive Head bolts, two large diameter 8 mm Stainless steal washers and two standard flat 8 mm Washers.  I cut the bar at 750 mm long but figure that 720 may have been enough.  The Bar coincidently has a groove in it that fits perfectly around the two stand- offs under the carrier.  It is very rigid.

I have plenty of the aluminium bar left over if anyone wants some.

The Antenna mount was originally designed for Bull bar mounting but the bolts were too short.  So I bought 4 of 6 mm x 75 mm bolts.

Turtle,

I'm not sure about waterproof, but the Icom 400 Pro is Rugged MIL SPEC construction.

I can only see a couple of places water might get in, but I can always stick a plastic bag over it.

Here is a couple of close up photos of the bracket mounting under the top box.

Perfect fit.  :grin

Cheers,
Gary
