Absolutely mate, just 45 minutes up the road and you'll be in Mt Franklin, one of my favourite quick getaway spots!

Just went outside for satellite connection to set GPS for Hepburn Hotel instead of Lal Lal, which I had programmed in before the change of venue.
GPS now has me on a revised route, so its mostly a Highway run all the way instead of the back roads, will probably do better time.

It was great to get there in time to actually sit down and have a chat this time!! Good to put some faces to some names too. It was good to meet Neil & Val, I had a great chat with Val about touring the Island of the Long White Cloud, you've got me really excited about our trip now! When I got home and told Em I'd been chatting with a Kiwi, she regretted not coming along (a bit homesick at the moment I think...).

Maggie V Mirror is a bit better than that wich happened to one of our Ulysses guys. He took a maggie in the shoulder, he rode to Joondalup emergency to have the beay removed. Raised eyebrows that did, and then he rode home.Back in 1979 I took a magpie to the face wearing an open face helmet, just south of Tamworth, heading to Qld. I had two teeth broken off, an hour later my whole face was black, I was Still finding feathers,blood and guts in the helmet 6 months later,.. needless to say this was the laST time I wore an open face,,, OUCH!!!

I was wearing a full face when I encountered a suicidal Murray Magpie full in the face while travelling late one afternoon between Waurn Ponds and Winchelsea about 8 years ago... it split the visor top to bottom.
Unpleasant ride home.
