Osram H4 X Racer Motorcycle Globe Not Fitting
« on: March 26, 2019, 04:04:08 PM »
Bought some of these a few weeks ago as they're supposed to a bit tougher than a car globe. They use a P43XT base with the only difference being the top tab is a fraction wider than the standard H4 P43T base.

It means we still have to either bend back or remove the lower two tabs and fit them or use an adapter ring; down to personal choice with that.

I've had a few attempts at fitting one of these to the 1300 with no success. It does go in but not far enough for clip to hold it in place and not wanting to force the issue I put the Honda globe back in.

Today I went to see if the new globes would work in the 1100 so out with the LH globe and the globe went in and clip in place. Out with the RH and the other globe in place leaving two good standard 60/55W H4 globes that should go in the 1300.

Out to the 1300 for a tryout fitting again. RH globe out since it's easier and though the globe did go in better I still couldn't get the clip to fit. Back in with the Honda globe until later.

Unless I get this to work it'll mean a $42 globe from Honda if I need to replace one in the future.
