2008-9 ST1300 recall - rear brakes
« on: July 13, 2014, 07:26:04 PM »
Just saw a for sale ad for a 2008-9 ST1300 and they mentioned the rear brake recall had been done. Anyone know what this was for and how one can tell if one's bike has had the work done?

Found this after a search. Both US sites but might be worth asking your local dealer for more clarification for Australian bikes.

My dealer did mine a few years ago. Fairly sure it was a real belt and braces thing but still worth doing.

Mine was done - They just replaced and rerouted the hose a bit so it didnt get squashed. They said mine showed no signs of any damage.
Cheers

Mine has also been done.   My dealer advised that they had never even seen a mark on a hose from it being touched by the suspension, let alone being ruptured.   It seems that hose damage is a remote possibility, and the hose is therefore rerouted as a precaution.
