changing 3 way T piece
« on: February 19, 2016, 10:38:52 PM »
CHANGING 3 WAY OR T PIECE CONNECTION

Today i did an Oil Change that ended up being a radiator T piece change.
HOPE THIS WORKS OUT WELL

Remove Allen screw from under bump guard

Next remove the 2 6mm bolts

Leave this Allen screw till last so it will hold your Tupperware from falling unexpectedly

disconnect the 2 Philips head screws, unscrew the mirror tether strip, then disconnect the indicator power supply

unscrew the 3 Allen screws, remove bottom black molding

After undoing the 2 Philips head screw securing glove compartment (Right side) Then undo this Aleen screw

AND SURPRISE!! THIS IS WHAT I FOUND......

$22.00 FROM hONDA FOR A REPLACEMENT.....OR $8.00 FOR THIS AT REPCO

AND THEN SHAZZAM ALL FIXED
FROM THIS........

TO THIS....

THANK YOU REPCO

Mine has done 20K and I am going to get one and replace it next time the tupperware comes off. Its just a matter of time as its plastic. For $8-10 I dont think its worth the risk of having a failure on the road.

Hi All. Ihad this tee piece pop on me last year when my 2002 1300 overheated because of a failing fans relay.Have since found out that this is not  a rare occurence on this vintage.I replaced with a new black plastics/ nylon item which was the genuine Honda spare . In subsequent researches it appears this item is so specfied, apparenty as a weak link  to minimize worse damage in this particular water circuit.Possible I suppose? Ed.  :slvr13
