« on: January 07, 2019, 03:32:46 PM »
My 1995 ex police st1100 could do with replacing the cush drive rubbers
Does someone know the correct part number and where they can be obtained
I've been told you have to get specific police ones
I'm in Warrnambool Victoria Australia

Parts list for rear wheel https://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-rear-wheel-st1100ps.html - same part on all 1100s

Anything I need urgently or low cost I get from nearest dealer in Port Augusta other wise I buy from the US here https://www.partzilla.com/

OEM Part number for the cush drive rubbers (item 1) 41241-MT3-003 - same part on all 1100s

You might also need the alloy inserts - (Item 2) 41242-MR5-000

You will also item 22 and 23

Three O rings usually get done as well - some change them every tyre change.

The third O ring is item 33 from here https://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-final-driven-gear-st1100ps.html

You will need the right grease for the splines, It used to be Honda Molly Paste 60 but has ben discontinued.

Suzuki has some as well

Its sort of strange though that the cush rubbers are sold differently on the Standard ST and the Police model.

For example the 2000 ST1100 sells them as a kit with part number 06410-MAJ-B80 @ $56.15
and the Police model sells them individually on pn. 41241-MT3-003 @ $21.35 each or $106.75 for the 5 required.

It makes you wonder if there is a difference in the Cush rubber.  I do not know the answer to this.  Would a police model justify a different part.  I would not think so.

It makes sense to sell the complete 5 as I doubt if you would just replace one. In the US you have to buy 5 at the individual price regardless of the model.

As another option they are available as aftermarket parts in the UK at David Silver Spares https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ for £29.95 ($53.73 plus postage) compared to their OEM price £47.00 ($84 plus postage). They come as a 5 piece kit but if you want just one OEM then that's a special order.

When I replaced STrangers cush Rubbers I got them for about $56.00 and I also replaced the alloy bits. I think it was from partzilla I' can check tomorrow but they were the same for all ST1100's if I remember correctly

Thanks Alan,

Your parts support is fantastic and appreciate the David Silver is often lower in cost.
In this case $53.73 plus post and possibly GST nowadays is going to be more that local Aussie supply at $56.00 and in stock from Honda Australia.

I agree buying in a kit is the only sensible way to go.

Thanks for that as I'll be looking for new set for the 1100 when I do the next tyre change. It's not often that Honda parts are cheaper in Australia though I have noticed lately that some have dropped in price quite a bit. Maybe the Honda warehouse has decided not load the price as they would pay the same price from Japan as any other Honda warehouse on the planet would.

As for GST I have yet to pay any on any imported parts except via eBay.
