I've been in contact with Matt and Dee at the Caravan Park, and they're very happy to host us.   When making a booking, mention that you are part of the OzSTOC group, and they will try to keep us close together.

As of Monday 16th March, the following hard accommodation was still available...

Cabin 14 - Queen, double and single (Fri and Sat nights)
Cabin 15 - Queen and two bunks (Fri and Sat nights)
Cabin 18 - Standard Ensuite cabin (Sat night only)
Cabin 19 - Standard ensuite cabin (Sat night only)

I've booked Cabin 17 and will probably have a bed available for someone else.    Others who have already booked may have a bed to spare.   There is plenty of camping space available

I'm exploring some interesting options for a Saturday night's dinner in the park.

Heather and I are interested in attending and it will largely depend if we do the border ride or not. This one maybe better for us as we haven't done any rides over 350 km in the last five years.

Hi Guys,

I just spoke with Dee and made my booking.  :hatwave
I got a "Standard Ensuite Cabin" for the Saturday and Sunday night. Hopefully it will contain my snoring  |-i so I apologise in advance if that isn't so.

Time to get fit.
I will plan it better in the next few weeks but I expect to be leaving Saturday morning around 3 to 4 am with 15 minute breaks  :popcorn every hour (roughly) so as to arrive by around 3pm.

This is my first long distance ride. To-date my longest ride has been around 550kms and I've been totally fine with that.

My plans are coming together and I'm going to take a circuitous route to get there.

First will be 3 days ride to Canberra (saaz) via Tamworth, Dungog and Sydney.
2nd will be Canberra to Melbourne via Jindabyne, Koscuizko, Khancoban and Albury.
3rd will be Melbourne to Portland (Kev Murphy) via the Great Ocean Rd
4th will be Portland to Adelaide (StinkyPete) via Mount Gambier
5th leg is Adelaide to Balranald.

Homeward,  I'm hoping to continue to use the OzSTOC Bed, Shed & Fed network. Sicman and ST2UP and Pockey,  looking at you.  :grin

I'm booked into the Capri Motel for Friday and Sat night because there were no cabins when I booked.

The rates at the Motel were cheaper the the Caravan Park.

Balranald Motor Inn & Billabong Restaurant
6.00pm with Dinner to be served at 6.30pm
A two course buffet consisting of Main and Sweets
$25 per head
Fortunately there's a bar

The Balranald Caravan Park has a large lawned area with a fire pit, and this is a gathering point for travellers in the afternoons.   Much red has been consumed and many stories told around that fire.   :grin

Dont forgett your ear plugs. The trucks are running all night and go around a 90 deg corner (braking and accelareting) next to the park. Have been there twice, once very tired and the second time under the influence. But now I HAVE  ear plugs and dont have to be tired or drunk to sleep,

    Sunday Morning Bacon & Eggs Breakfast

We plan on having a Bacon and Eggs Breakfast on Sunday morning, using either the Camp Kitchen or the BBQ by the Fire Pit.   OzSTOC will purchase the food, some paper plates and disposable cups (to save washing up) and the charge will be enough to simply cover the purchases.

Please post if you would like to join us for an OzSTOC Breakfast so we know how many we need to cater for.    Watch this post and I'll keep track of the numbers.

There is no rush for final numbers.  The main issue is that you secure your own accommodation.   For both dinner and breakfast, so long as our numbers are pretty close, it will be fine.  We hope to see you both there.

Unfortunately I am locked into dates for riding my new wing home from Brisbane.
Current plan is :-
Brisbane to maybe Narrabri or Coonabarabran Saturday 19th
Narrabri to Hay or Coonabarabran to Balranald Sunday 20th
Hay or Balranald to Victor Harbor Monday 21st
so if anyone on their way home sees a red 1800 Wing with a rider in a yellow jacket and pillion in a pink jacket please wave or stop and say hello if we are stopped.

Yet to book a camp site, but I'll be there. Put my name down for the Saturday night feed and Sunday brekkie. Lindy is a bit too busy to get away on Friday, and didn't want to spend most of Saturday on the bike, so I'll be leaving Orange around 11AM by myself, after the young blokes final school assembly. No doubt, see some of you on the road there! Now I'll just have to order a shirt, hat and name badge.... :CB--

I intend to leave early Saturday morning at around 3 am. I hope to arrive early Saturday afternoon in time for a siesta before dinner. Anyone traveling my way on the Saturday?  :grin Unfortunately Chops/Dallas whom I was to meet, had to pull out due to needing to take care of SWMBO  :-++ who is not doing too well at the moment.  :eek PM for my mobile if you can part share the ride.  :phone

Pete, is the restaurant BYO? Do you know anything about the corkage? Reason for the questions is that I really splurge on the wine ....at Aldi, and I recently paid $5.40 corkage on a bottle that cost $3.99  :rofl .....just askin .....no biggie  o:)

I've just checked with Lisa and Ashton at the Billabong.  They support BYO, but corkage is $5.00 per glass.

As past experiences has taught me, too much drinking & not enough sleep makes for a very bad,very long day on the bike the next day so i will be only having a few myself  :eek

Pitstops spagbog is reason enough to visit but i was looking at echuca thursday or friday.
I have nailed down wednesdays destination to eden, cooma or albury.It could all change when i wake up according to whuch way the wind blows  ;-*

My  work annual leave is thursday to sunday so i'm just making it up as i go along.I will have a few destinations in mind for the next day but those are open slather come the next day.

I left katoomba this morning headed for bathurst.
Refuelled,did a few laps then decided on beechworth whilst having a steak/beer for lunch in young.

I did see & wave to  Neale  between bathurst & blayney
 (he overnighted @ sicmans last night in WW) on his way back home.

Tommorrow IS Echuca........how i get there is another question  ;-*

So... Although there is a firepit at the caravan park , we will be bringing our little firepit and a heap of burning logs . We will also be bringing alfoil and bags of potatoes onions and garlic butter. It's a bit easier to cook in the little firepit then on a bit firepit, so feel free to bring some thing to throw in to cook. We have lots of spare spuds and onions to go around.

I just picked up the NSW flag from Abe's place. Poor bugger, he's working through the weekend.

Pete, forgot to thank you on the follow up on the corkage fee for Saturday night. Might just stick to coke and H2O. As Stimpy said, go easy on the booze to make for a more enjoyable ride.

Unfortunately we won't make this one. Flash is away this weekend and I have started a college course for the next 2 months in the city.  Train journeys are fun  :well I already have an exam this weekend  :'(

Well done to the first arrivals. My ETA is 2.30pm. Tyres are pumped, Tank is fuelled, All the gear is on and tied up. Only thing left is toiletries after I get up, then to quietly slip down the road. Intend to be on the road by 3am.  :hatwave

Hi all, got home a bit later than expected, around 5, but with a call into Bendigo to see the outlaw. Bit of lunch and onward. Michelle had a ball as did I, always great to catch up with many friendly faces. The Accommodation was top notch as were the hosts, Pete Chris Jean and I am sure many others. Great skills in bringing these events, and making them so successful. If Michelle got into too many ears I'll repair the damage next time  :eek

So sorry to hear about Gary`s off but looks though he`s ok. And Kev dont forget to do your Helmet up next time.... :Stirpot..........Nigel  :wht11

Glad you had a great ride. These bikes don't leak oil, I like to think that they sweat. The rain proof seat cover I use I purchased from the good wool store where they make sheep skin seat covers.

Thanks Rex I check it out and get one of those seat covers as for the sweat dripping from the silver ghost it may have been just condensation from the weather change Come to think of it she seem to feel a lot fitter on the return trip
