After three and a half years our wi-fi modem died. Just as well I had a spare older modem on hand. Ordered new one which should arrive in about 4 days

With only one computer directly connected to the net by cable I had go back to the dark ages and share the net connection so we could both be online. Just as well our PCs have Wi-Fi or I'd have cables everywhere.......lol

I must have the only blue 1100A police bike that sounds like a BMW..........in Australia

Yesterday I took the bike down to get a quote for two tyres for my car. When coming back home I spotted our local TOLL courier (a bike rider as well) just stopping at the bank so I decided to let him know about me getting work.

I stopped beside his drivers door and scared the crap out of him as he thought I was on a police bike and that the bike sounded like a BMW

Chased a Beemer R1150RT down the Gillies today, they were 2 up and I was on my own. When we stopped (at the Moujtain View for a cold bevvie) he said he he was surprised how well the ST did coming down the range. Considering it was the first time ever I've scraped the pegs I surprised myself on how well I did coming down.
Proabably one of the best runs I've had on the Gillies for a while.

I went see the nurse at the surgery this morning for a blood test.

After being told to fast for 12 hours (from 9pm last night) I was expecting the diabetes test where you have drink and they take blood before and two hours later.

What a relief when I found out it was for cholesterol and thyroid function and only one lot of blood.

Our mobile broadband for the WIN 8.1 laptop is now up and running.

I found the driver updates for it this morning, installed and tested. A lot easier than setting up, connecting to and using the mobile phone as a modem.

On a less happier note,

One of our friends died last Tuesday (3rd June) whilst at home. After the autopsy and other related issues surrounding a death at home the funeral is on Tuesday the 17th which we were notified of this morning.

So I/we have a ride down to the southern suburbs of Adelaide on Tuesday and an overnight stay.

A few days ago Heather started watching Resident Evil (I have the first three) on DVD so after the movie she bought the fifth one (Retribution) on E-bay for me.

Resident Evil: Retribution 3D/2D arrived in the mail today so we watched it but only after nearly thinking we had a crook disc. Thinking the 3D would be on a different disc I put what I thought was the 2D version in the player and it wouldn't work. I worked it out in the end, I'd put the extras disc in first (nothing on the disc to say that it was) and not the movie disc. Swapped discs to try the other one and after starting the choice between 2 and 3D came up. Forgetting that it was Blu Ray and that both versions would fit on the same disc.

As with the previous movies in the series this one makes one wonder if a number six is in the offering

Well you've got that much money, I'm happy for the gummint to take some of it.
You guys are getting paid millions every year, so a hundred Gs makes no difference to your lifestyle, but our pollies need it for their superannuation, Gold Pass, lifetime medical etc etc...

I put this together today......If I had to get another one of these things then I was going to do it right. Suspension front and rear plus 18 speed gears though only 16 (suggested) in reality. The tyres still have to be pumped up but they can wait until it cools down a little. They didn't have the men's version in stock so I got the girl's one plus red looks better than black and there isn't that much of a difference between them anyway: not on this type.

And that's a knitting machine in the background. Haven't seen one of those for 40 years. Bought the Missus one, but she didn't take to it. I thought it was sheer magic.

Nice bike. Suspension is definitely nice on a pushie.

Mum tried to teach both of us hand knitting when growing up (as mums did back then) and I picked it up and my sis couldn't. I bought that one in the early 90's and it's been used off and on since then. I bought a metal bed one 6 months after that and I have had another 3 given to me over the years.
