Sometimes a week seems longer than the average...
« on: April 13, 2013, 03:05:54 PM »
A week ago yesterday (Friday) I received a new debit card from my bank. All was well with my world :thumbsup
Over the weekend, I decided I needed groceries, so off I go and try my new card out. :thumb
Lo and behold! It doesn't work!  :eek
Being a weekend the bank isn't open  :cuss Come Monday I call and ask why doesn't my card work - "oh sorry, we cancelled the wrong one - we'll fix it for you and you can use it tomorrow"  :clap
Come Tuesday, I took the bike as it seemed to need a run to charge up the battery. Card worked like a charm, just like they said it would :thumbs
Came back out, hopped on the bike, and......... :cuss :cuss :cuss One dead battery.
Being not too far from home, I caught a passing school bus (being a driver of the same depot has its benefits :grin) and got a lift home with the intention of getting the car and going back to jump start the bike, and work out later how to get two vehicles home with one body.
Then I thought "where's the car keys?"
Of course! they're locked in the top box which is on the bike with the flat battery miles away :cuss :cuss :cuss

Good neighbour Don arrives, we go get the Steed, then order a new battery from my local guy, who has TNT lose his order on him.

It'd make ye cry eh!   :'(

The battery arrived yesterday  :runyay

Best part was it (Power Road MF) only cost $88.00 fitted.

I read today they're finding dementia can set in as young as 45...
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
