Cant help with a replacement, but to relate a similar story when mine flew off on the way down to Sydney. Happened at the worst possible spot where there is no chance of recovery at any time of day or night so I had to leave it. Found out after I received a new one that there is supposed to be a cable tie attached to the cover and screwed to the frame which helps to prevent then flying off. My bike, which I've had from new, was not supplied with these hence the problem.
Might be worth checking your other mirror before it too goes walkabout.

Are we talking about 1100s or 1300s?

Doesn't the 1300 have a strap on the mirror housing like the 1100 does?

Guessing it's a 1300 as it's posted under 1300......

They do, but it is usually slotted in where the cable comes out and can jump out.  I had the same thing happen to the left, hence the spare scratched left one.

After that I got two cable ties and made sure it was tied to the bike.  I also made sue the indicator cable wouldnt be stretched when it dropped.

The other thing I did was order new spring clips, as the wear over time.  Some can be bent back into place, but some break when you try to bend them.
Cheers,
Gary
