That is a good buy. Note the after market screen and towbar. 2008 and later models have some minor changes from earlier models so a good year to buy. Kev, beware if you take it for a ride you will buy it and remember red ones go faster.

I phoned the guy because a mate of mine could be interested in the bike. It also has OEM Heated Grips & a throttle lock. It looks a really good buy, but one small problem..............it's a repaired write off!!  The guy who owns it now has had it for 2 years and isn't sure what the damage was but said that someone else checked and it was hail damaged, but he couldn't guarantee it. I'm not so sure about that though!!    Still could be a good buy.......I wouldn't mind having a ride on it just to check it out. I know it doesn't take a lot of body damage to write these bikes off and if that was the only damage to the bike then it's still good value. I've told my mate that if he wants to have a look at it we could ride up to Devonport tomorrow and have a squiz......the ball's in his court now .

Good on ya Glen!........how do you intend to get it home??  If you're intending to fly here and ride it back then let us know as we may be able to help you out. It looks like a nice bike. I had also contacted the guy about the bike.......more for a friend than for myself, although I must admit, I'd like to see it in my stable!!

I was very lucky a good friend and his brothers (one of which used to own a GL1500) arrived in Devonport this morning to do a trip around Tassie on their bikes so they detoured to Launceston on their way to Strahan this morning to inspect it for me. It passed inspection so the deal was done. Next stroke of luck is an old work colleague whom I visited in Launceston two weeks ago, according to Google, lives 850 ms away, literally around the corner so he will pick it up for me and store it until I fly in on the 17th April. Most likely will just boat it to Melbourne and then ride it home but have asked for prices to freight it from both Melbourne and Adelaide.
It comes with a hydraulic ATV/bike lifter, see photo,which I would like to sell so if any one in Tassie has a use for it please pm me.

Many thanks but we can buy the same, but new (680kg lift) from Supercheap locally for $149......and even less when they have their sales.
