If you would like to read an article about how close minded some motorcyclists can be, read the below, I know the point they are making is that everyone is different, but wow, talk about not caring if themselves or someone else gets hurt.....

Apart from the content of the essay, the scores of repetitions of "Do you understand" make for difficult reading.
I scarcely think it makes it good literature, but sure qualifies as haranguing.

I struggle to discern his message. It seems that he holds almost anyone who rides a bike in disdain, except for himself to whom the motorcycling gods have exclusively revealed all knowledge and insight. This is an odd attitude for a professional motorcycle journalist.

Do we understand he needs to get his medication reviewed, I think he may have forgotten to take his for a while. The reason we ride is "our" reason, each to his/ her own. When riding in a group I personally have never felt alone. If you ride to escape from yourself I think you are doomed to fail as you will always be at your next destination. End of rambling or I run the risk of doing a "boris". Richo

But his most important contribution is pissing people off. He feels this is his calling in life and something he takes seriously.

Its worth keeping that bit in mind. Its in the bit "About the Author" and he's achieved the result his copy was intended to do.

Got you thinking...and gee we don't all have to like each-other just because we have a common interest, that being bike ownership.

I agree, as Boris certainly provokes thoughts about things that I don't think most of us ever think about. Whether it's worth thinking about is up to the reader, but I must admit that context is certainly not always evident in his writing. Like him or not, motorcycling does need some thought provocation sometimes, otherwise, to quote the life of Brian, "we're all individuals!" We certainly get some diversity with Boris, and I think The Bear understands the need for it!

Boris is a sociopath who refuses to, or cannot, understand that freedom is a justifiable act if no person can be harmed as a consequence. If an attempted freedom directly results in the death of a person - that's murder. If an attempted freedom inadvertently results in a death - that's humanslaughter. If an attempted freedom causes no problem at all - that is basic freedom. If an attempted freedom causes bliss - that is perfect freedom. IMHO.

BTW - even basic freedom can be a rockin' time on a motorsickel!

Boris and I have had dealings on another forum recently, and due to the situation, I don't think we will be trading Christmas cards anytime soon, It was certainly an insight to the person that in his position I would never have expected, which makes this article rather reflective of the character....
