stsrter relay

There are a trillion after markert starter relays on ebay and other places. Some are just too cheap and I will avoid them. Does any body have any experiance with these after market models.
Scared to look at genuine $

Mate I'd take it down to Ashdown Ingram, they may well have something that would be a direct replacement.

I ordered the after market one from UK
not to sure when it will be here but off the road until it does.
Will also be doing the hot wire bypass.

Saw the ones on ebay as well, and the price being cheap. didn't want to trust that they would match the picture in being the same quality. Thought about the consequences of it failing if it was an inferior after-market one. So elected to buy a genuine part and have the peace of mind on reliability of not letting me down. I know most genuine parts are dear, exceedently so, but at least the quality is guarenteed and a direct fit. especially parts that would stop the bike. but still always look for the cheaper fix, no harm in looking.

If you do at least the red wire bypass of the connector that melts and fails, the starer relay should last the life of the bike.  Mine melted just after I got the bike, but was salvageable and has been fine ever since.  I did the more drastic bypass of putting in a relay to totally bypass the ignition switch for mains power (as standard, power goes from alternator/battery, up to ignition switch, then back to the fuse box) Ignition switch now just switches the relay.

I think mine is still as it was built..........no trouble with this since I've had bike........
