ST1100 parts possibility
« on: October 15, 2015, 01:21:52 PM »
Just a hypothetical at this stage.

I would like to know how much interest there would be in the parts from a whole 1100, if it were to be parted out. The only parts not available would probably be the LH fairings and pocket unit. All other parts would be available, including solo seat set up, custom rack and dual seat among other custom bits.

Not definite, but will not even think about it if not enough interest for all parts.

Let me know if interested.
Cheers

Let's say you could get $3000 for the bike as a going concern.
It would take a lot of hassling and a lot of sales to get $3000 in parts.
I'd say keep it running rather than dismembering it, unless there are other issues than the LH fairing.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I could be interested in single seat, top box and screen depending on condition and price.

I couldn't use any of the coloured panels but the RH fairing pocket/filler panel I could use (unless I fix the crack in mine). The reserve fuel sender (attached to fuel pump) I would take. Nothing else comes to mind.

I want the little itty-bitty cover that goes on the left side grey bit ..... you know .... the bit where it covers the hole.

Interesting responses.

Water pump is brand new, but would stay with the engine anyway.

You may be right Biggles, just checking the possibilities at this stage.

I have the chance at a 1300 in silver and I know the bike, so the 1100 would have to go. I have been riding the 1300 lately and it seems to suit me better and is much easier to deal with than the 1100 for some reason.

Oh well, will wait and see if there are any more responses and decide. One thing is for sure, nothing will happen until after harvest (about mid-november).

Thanks

Cheers
