I am using SIN 10 fully synthetic oil, really does the job but a little more expensive than mineral based oils. The first oil was very expensive at $80 for 5 litres now they are doing a fully synthetic for normal vehicles and is far more reasonable at $45 for 5 litres. I usually only change at 10,000 ks so the synthetic suits me.

I have used the 10 10ths Penrite for a while (10W-40) and found the oil change interval could easily be extended to 15,000kms as the gear change still felt fine.  The 15W-50 would probably owrk better in my ST1100 given it has done 213,000kms and the oil level finally started to drop a bit between oil changes.
