ST1100 in Adelaide - Now Sold
« on: February 27, 2022, 08:09:20 PM »
An old work colleague is selling his ST1100, and I said I'd post the info on the forum.   If you are interested, PM me with your contact details, and I'll pass them on.   Asking price is  $5,000  $3,600 and Open to Negotiation.

"The bike is a 2000 Honda ST1100 ABS.   Due to it having the speedo replaced I have worked out with the invoices etc that the kilometers it has done  would be about 161,000.   Rego is YZM706.  It has two and a half months rego on it.   It has a spare set of mufflers, a tinted brand new front screen.   Have the original manual and toolkit that came with the bike from new, and some spares and stickers.  Brake pads front and rear.   It has a new speedo cable on it.  Top box wasa bout brand new when I got the bike.  Jim, the previous owner never used it. I am the 3rd owner."

Your friend is asking too much for the bike. Although it looks nice, its 20 years old, and 160000Ks. In reality, I would guestimate the value at $2500 tops

It may be a starting point for negotiation.

The high kms and replaced dash/speedo will put some people off. There are plenty of good example bikes with much less kms going for $3,500 to $4,500.
On the plus side though this one does have a few extra goodies (spares, after-market seat, large top box), which will offset the kms a little bit, but not much.

I recently paid $2,800 for mine with 160,000 kms on it, but it does have an issue which once sorted will see me closer to $3,500 - $3,800 in to it all up.

I purchased 6 months ago an identical bike with Honda top box and 30k less on the clock for $500, only had to replace fork seals

I had a message from the seller today.....

He's dropped his asking price to $3,600 open to negotiation and I've amended the original post.

I don't know, but some of the ST1100 folk on the forum will know if the 2000 ST1100 was carby or FI.

A high price, good for the seller, not so for the buyer; a low price, good for the buyer, not so for the seller.  In the end, they'll meet somewhere in the middle to the mutual satisfaction of both parties.

The bike's been sold.  :thumb  The seller was keen to move it on quickly, and I'll post the selling price if I find out, as it might help others to value/move an ST1100.

Did the purchaser get an Ozstoc card with the sale?

I don't know, but assume they did not.   The previous owner was made aware of OzSTOC, but did not become involved.
