Hope you had a good time - again.

I have been sidelined with a lot of distractions, recently, but am hoping to become active again in the near future.

JC, Great to hear from you again. Because we had no takers and the monsoon trough was very active that week, we decided to take the car and caravan... and what a brilliant decision that turned out to be..... we didn't have to battle wet everything. We got to do heaps and stay dry and upright at the same time.
FNQ is the very favorite part of our backyard, and we could well be getting back there sometime after the rally,  later in the year. Cheers, John and Kate.

I'm glad everything worked out and you got your break away even if it was in car and caravan
I am intending on taking Robyn for a trip "Driving the Range" in the next few years when I retire  :like

Hey Leo, As I said to JC, we enjoy nothing better than going out into the backyard of our patch of FNQ and finding another favourite spot, finding another gem.

Kate keeps her own blog, and has posted about our search for gems, stage by stage, in that forum. The reports are formatted for her blog, so to see what was involved, click the links in turn.

And this is everything from the start of our last trip. Kate describes where the Miz Lizzie name came from, in her response to the 1st comment...

Things we do... well I did buy myself a hydraulic STeed lift bench...

Wife of Chiconia (i.e-Kate) is someone who never likes to see anything wasted - even my old work pants...

The huge learning curve was having the Sportage fitted with a bypass circuit so as to increase the voltage supplied to the van...

Here are the blog links for the last two Miz Lizzie posts. Our trip home started out really wet, from Atherton, down to Innisfail... then a head wind from Townsville to home, the next day.

If we'd been camping with Scarlett Thunderbolt and Rolling Thunder, it would have turned into a wet and somewhat miserable feat of endurance. As it turned out, we arrived home pain-free, dry and impatiently looking forward to our next trip.

There are still loads of other gems to be discovered on our to-do list and we'll be visiting them on future rides/trips... more tales to follow.

Leo, we hope our tales help you, Robyn and any other members in your gem hunting. Cheers, John and Kate.
