One day you will wake up and there won't be anymore time to do the things you've always wanted so do them NOW!!!
Remember there are 7 days in a week and Someday isn't one of them!

I was planning on buying a 4wd and heading out to Birdsville then up to Karumba via a quick visit to your fine self and Wendys but it seems the Diamantina, Eyre and Birdsville Development Roads will be out of action for some time to varying extents.

What's your current plan? Still looking to attend?

I've got a few days in Port Germein ahead of this RTE to ride the Germein Gorge & a few other rides, as well as getting so E fishing and crabbing in from the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.

I may also try and get some aerial footage as well - I've given into temptation and got a drone. Not a Mavic though, a Zero-X as a starter.

Current plan is to leave Easter Monday.Either inland or coast road to Sydney on Day 1.

Day 2 and 3 is Wollongong to Bega to cover that section i've not done yet then up to Cooma - Jindabyne - Alpine way to Corryong - Omeo - Dargo High Plains road down to Bairnsdale.

Day 4 i'll start working my way across Victoria either via G.O.R or through the middle.

Depends on how i'm going but i have options in SA to get to lunch on Saturday.

.... Corryong - Omeo - Dargo High Plains road down to Bairnsdale....

You must've have found Nigel's old GPS.

https://goo.gl/maps/U614TxDhexpMSQMj9

The direct road from Corryong to Omeo has something like 85km of dirt, but the route on the map via Mitta Mitta is so good, you'll want to do it again and again.  Also, the Dargo High Plains b/t St Bernard and Dargo is mostly dirt.

If you have a stay planned near Melbourne, we have some unfinished business at Moondog World.

https://moondogbrewing.com.au/world/

Link not for Duncan, he needs no introduction, but for others who can only dream.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Bugger. Depending on how i'm going time wise i may have to go via Mitta Mitta or just start heading westwards after Corryong. Omeo is basically booked out accommodation wise due to NSW & VIC school holidays which start a week later than Qld.

I'd imagine it will be a similar story in other regional holiday areas. I'll have to play it by ear i guess.

I was going to stop by Mr Banks at Seaford this time around if i ended up going via Melbourne.

You're being too kind, Michael.
We travelled it last year and the road is basically rock...and rough as guts! Think it shook all my fillings out... :||||
