Shortest route for me, avoiding many major towns and highways.
Just a casual ride on mostly backroads.

Whew!  You'll be worn out (even more than usual) by the time you get there.  The best I can figure, this is your route.

If you want a sleep-in (and you need it) and meet Helen and me at St Helena at 10:00am, I could lead you along this route.

https://goo.gl/maps/JMbd7YrtFxUtk19m9

There is around 50km of Metro Ring Road / Western Freeway (b/t St Helena and Deanside), but then there is one sweet gem of a road to Fiskville.   That's if you think you could keep up with the Mighty ST1300.

Great day for a ride and a catch up with all. Left on 8 am Kinglake was as foggy as, so a slow and cautious approach was had. Down thru Whittlesea, Romsey onto Gisborne. Supposed to go thru Ballan but turned out be Bacchus Marsh, now that's a busy town.
Out the back up the mountain to the wind turbines, over an extremely poorly maintained single lane road, but the Beemer just took it in its stride and I made it with no fuss.
Small "F" grade rd got me into Meredith where most had already arrived.

Return trip Set Ballan on the GPS, missed it and ended up in Daylesford! All good, adjusted posture, reset GPS and came home via Woodend, Romsey and so on to home. Less K`s than I thought, about 2 minutes of rain out of the happy capital then just sunshine.
 Top day. Thanks All :grin

Home around 4:15pm for us, was getting a little uncomfortable at 32C on the M80.  A few pics to share a little later.

Plenty of pics taken inside and out by others, please share for all to enjoy.

.... Out the back up the mountain to the wind turbines, over an extremely poorly maintained single lane road ....

Glenmore Road.  https://goo.gl/maps/RzwifgWnfkgd9P7p6

The view from near the top of the escarpment in quite spectacular.

Travelling in the opposite direction, in August 2019.

And some pics from me...  :grin

Although I had some concerns in the days before, the weather turned out pretty good with no rain encountered whatsoever.
This ended up being one of our bigger RTE's attendence wise too which was great to see.
Also great to see was the large turnout of ST's with just 2 or 3 other "inferior" brands in attendence... :grin

A big thankyou to the organisers!  :clap
