Handle Bar Risers problem ST1300
« on: August 14, 2012, 06:05:44 PM »
I bought the Helibar Handle bar rises for my ST1300 but the Clutch Hyd' Line is way too tight even after shifting it as per instructions.
Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions on what to do?

Cheers

Hi Beemer ,
I had a similar issue with mine . The hyd. Line is anchored to the frame left hand side ... I removed that bracket, this allows enough movement in the line to compensate for the risers.
With general day to day riding it's fine , the line is only stressed on full lock and really how often do we have it on full lock. Still something to be mindful of when maneuvering the bike in tight spots .

Despite the blurb telling me that the original fluid and electrical lines could be used with ease with the MCL Gen III risers, recently I too had to release a couple of brackets to straighten them out a bit. I took the same view as to how infrequently we use full lock which again is where the only conflicts are. But it is something I want to revisit to loosen them off some more as (blind idiot cage drivers permitting) I'll have this bike for the rest of my days.
