Sounds like a good idea. Terri is away for the weekend and I was keen for a ride somewhere.

Thought I might take a northern route and ride via Kallangur, Dayboro, Woodford, Kilcoy and Somerset. Riding time from Nundah is about 2.5 hours and a good ride for anyone who might like a few twisties if there is anyone else interested? It will mean about  a 0630 start for me.

Ride back to Brisbane can be via Glorious and Nebo, Glorious and Samford or the Warrego. Whatever takes your fancy.

Cheers

Dennis

On Wednesday I said I'd meet up with STrider20 at the Samford Caltex at 8:00.
I'll be there.  If he's not, I'll head out over Glorious myself and see youse at Esk.
It'll be hot (but not up on Mt Glorious   :)

Cheers,

Nope, sorry Whizz.  Sounds like a trip to the Chemist to get a pair of reading glasses for $20 until you can get to your optometrist.

Just got back from the Chemist with a pair of cheap ones, and they feel WEIRD!!!  :well

Thanks for the big letters by the way  :grin

PS. have you ever mapped you speed against your engine revs?, because when I tagged on to you coming back this morning I noticed that 120 kph =  4,000rpm exactly! After you peeled off to Somerset, TJ and I continued on to Blacksoil then I went right, he went left.

The first part of the run was heaven early this morning, cool and pleasant, the ride home was not so pleasant by any means.  :H

Had a great morning and was very pleased to meet up with everyone.

120 kph  !!  ??  Couldn't have been me!   :eek

But yes, every 30 kph = 1000 RPM (in top gear, of course).  Used that before.  That's INDICATED.  Remember, our speedos over-read by 9%.  So 120 indicated is a metric tad over 100.   Wot thuh

I stopped to get a pic and a pumpkin and a bunch of hoons tore past, followed by STrider20.  Up the road a little ways, Plod was handing out a performance award to an unfortunate young fellow.

Looking forward to Beatup's photos of the pageant.

Here's the planning stage:

STREAK: "Now if you ride at this angle, we can fit you in the photo."

DIESEL: "While you're rabbiting on, I'll take a secret video of Beatup's surprised looks..."

BEATUP: "It'll never work!!  Never does!  Yers are useless as photographic models!"

Same for the 1100, the white ones speedo is accurate, ( ubless out of spec tyre is fitted). I have checked my speedo with a GPS as well.

The speed for a given RPM is good to know, if you have a tyre change and the speed indication is different then a GPS check would be a good idea. The 1100 gets speed indication from the front wheel. the 1300 from a gearbox sensor. The 1100 with different front tyres will have indication differences. A 1300 will be driven at different speeds for different rear tyres.
