Home 6:45 pm yesterday after departing at 4:00am. 2511 kays for the trip.
It was a great weekend, except for my decision to have a look at the Tenterfield to Woodenbong Mt Lindsay "Highway" for a change from the boring Newell. I did it in 1974 and it was desperately bad then. I knew it had been sealed- except for about 4 kays before the Stanthorpe turn-off and 10 kays further on. I can do a bit of dirt, but this was corrugated about 3" deep and 8" pitch, so it shook the stuffing out of the bike. I've got a few things to fix.
I'd read how bad the Legume to Urbenville section was, and now know firsthand.
The clincher came on the Beaudesert road traffic lights. Some are in the 80 kph zone and I thought I had time on the long amber, but got a flash in the mirrors, so apparently I timed it badly.
