For all those Perth folk out there.
I would like to see if anyone is interested in doing a regular evening coffee run into Fremantle and possible other locations since the weather is getting warmer again.
We could aim for the first Tuesday of the month if this suits everyone?
Meet at a central location say outside of Supercheap/Repco in Atwell/Jandakot at 7pm for a 715pm departure towards Fremantle.
Coffee in Fremantle via Coogee, then do a casual ride through the streets that's on the southern side of the river out towards the old Raffles Hotel, then take off from there.
Used to do this with a local group a few years ago that no longer exists, so would love to get this happening here.
Any interest ?
-
A good idea, but no good for me. I'm up early for a ride to Jkot for a 0630 start, then off again at 1500 to get home around 1600, and usualy in bed by 2030. Besides, I would have to battle the traffic again to go back to Jkot..
I need my beauty sleep, really i do..
-
Sounds great to me. I do a similar thing with a bunch of mates every second Friday during Summer.
Count me in :thumbsup
:wht11
-
My work hours rule me out as well, usually have to get up at 04:30 :eek and get home around 18:30 most days :-[
-
Yeah please pencil me in as I don't seem to be able to attend any RTE events on weekends due to that never ending problem called work.
Wife goes to fat club every Tuesday leaving me at home on my own (sob).
Bike is getting a bit rusty and dusty in the shed due to lack of use.
HOFFY
-
Sounds like an idea.
Does it have to be a Tuesday though? I'm like Ray, I'm up at 04:30 Monday to Friday and living out in Midland, I wouldn't be getting home until close to Wednesday.

Fat club and beauty sleep.
The ice is getting very thin :whistle

Great feedback thanks guys. Should we perhaps look at doing this on a Friday, Sat or Sunday night instead?
-
Any night is out for me, about a 4 hr round trip is over the top.
-
a 4 hr round trip is over the top.
Via Darwin is "over the top " :clap
-
I'd be keen on this. Even if it moves (date or location - alternating north/south perhaps), as long as there was sufficient notice.... anything for a ride!
-
Bummer it doesn't suit some of you, but for the rest there seems to be some slight interest with this.
Also could do a run from the meet point via Fremantle through to Hillarys along the coast every so often as well. Used to enjoy that route.
How about we kick it off for a Hillarys run then, with a slight adjustment to the meet point to make it easier to find and easy for a fuel top up.
When: Tuesday 3rd of December, meet 7pm for a 715pm departure
Where: BP on Beeliar Drive, Success (near the Cockburn gateway shopping centre)
Route: Fremantle, then coastal route up to Hillarys for coffee, then back down towards Freo on the way home.
Hope some of you can come, will be great to get a few ST's out for the evening.
If your interested, please respond with your interest below.
Cheers
-
Sounds like a plan but i need to wait a little closer to the time. misses all my meetings and I should have the farkles sorted by then. :beer :popcorn
:wht11

Count me in please.
I knock off work at 5.00pm, Missus HOFFY off to fat club and I have weekly leave on Wednesday.

It's a Tuesday.
I have a meeting in West Perth until about 7 so shall try and catch up at Hillary's, any idea for an ETA at Hillary's?
-
Has there been any changes for this ride, is it still on and if so any idea where we will finish up.
North of the river is a new country to me.
-
Sure is Trevor, happy to change the route and destination based on suggestions at the meet point, we'll chat about it there, but original plan to head up to Hillarys, have a bite/drink then ride back down towards Freo, then South St, you could head back from there, as I'll hit the freeway to head back to Rockingham.
ETA in Hillarys would be about 745-8ish, Glen you could catch us on the coastal route up if you want?
Who else is keen?
Trevor - confirmed
Phil - confirmed
Glen - possible
Wombat - confirmed
BigTed ??
Anyone else ? sorry for the late reply have been under the pump at work.
-
Still sounds like a plan :grin :beer
:wht11
-
I work Wed ,Thur , Fri and Sat nights so Mon and Tues are my weekends .
I'm keen to do one of these but not this week , I have another thing going on .
-
ETA in Hillarys would be about 745-8ish, Glen you could catch us on the coastal route up if you want?
Dave, I am not too keen on the group ride part but look forward to the coffee.
I will head north once my meeting is finished. If there is any major change will you please leave a message on my mobile. I will pm you my number.
-
I can't tomorrow as I'm currently in BrisVegas for the week with work - a sudden change of plans.
-
All good Silky, Glen and Rob.
Will see you up there Glen, just FYI if anyone needs to reach us, I am on 0427439443
Cheers
-
I'm still keen, see you all at the BP.
-
Will meet you guys at Hillarys. Where are we meeting there?

No worries Pezz, maybe meet near the burger place in there.
-
Was a great ride, thank you to everyone that came along!
Wombat, Trevor, myself and a friends son Ryan (Phil couldn't make it) we all left Beeliar and headed through Freo and up the coast to Hillarys (3x white ST1100's and a baby red 250 Ninja)
The weather was very windy and a little chilly, the ST's almost got blown over at one stage due to an excess gust that came from the ocean between buildings at Scarborough which was interesting!
Got into Hilarys around 8:10pm and met up with Pezzz and Glen, had something to bite, chinwag and headed off back down the coast and home again.
Was a great night had by all, something to break up the week a little.
Good to put some faces to the names and I hope to do this again, probably to a different location next time so throw up your suggestions?
-
Thanks for the company fellas, got to see the new light over mirror brackets, HID lights on Wombats bike work well and was impressed with Glens little battery that apparently starts his Goldwing.
Keen to go on another run later.
-
An enjoyable evening. Just a slight correction, my Lithium battery easily started the ST1300 but have yet to try it in the GL1500 Wing.

hahahah where's your faith ????
Had a great night. Very windy waiting out on West Coast Drive for a while but was funny watching the cars come over the hill and then nosedive on the brakes when they saw the bike sitting there.
Always good to put faces to names.
Maybe somewhere South next or City through to Guildford ??? (Alfreds Kitchen is there ... :eat )
:wht11 Pezzz
-
Sorry for the delay but had a great night. Good company and good food, It cant get any better. I can feel Alfreds coming on. :think1
Only one complaint I think I might have to polish the old girl sitting around those other gleaming STeads or I might have to park around the corner. :rofl
:wht11
-
when you get the new number plate frames, you will stand out for all the right reasons.
-
You mean I have been standing out :fp
:wht11
-
Ha Ha Ha, especially when you turn those blue lights on.
-
I thought I would bump this.
I feel week with a lack of caffeine and burger fat so who wants another twilight soiree and where? :grin Spelt it swaray and was called stupid by wikipedia. :fp :well Each to his own :whistle
:wht11
-
so who wants another twilight soiree and where?
I'd like say "yes" as I've been looking forward to these. Sadly, I had a flat battery when I got to the bike this arvo after work. So, probably not this week. Enjoy it all who go!

Temperature looks good for it this week.

I will be at the Corfield st shopping centre at 6.00 to 6.15. Then going to High Wycombe to meet Pezzz. Even if we are the only ones a cruize down the zig zag and maybe a burger at Alfreds in Guildford.
:wht11
-
Woot! :runyay Work is "out of the way" for a change. I look forward to catching up with Wombat and Pezz as we've not met before.
I'll join Wombat between 6 & 6:15 in the carpark on Corfield St Gossies as it's on the way for me. Is this at the Corfield Tavern?
-
Yes but outside!!! will be waiting :hatwave
:wht11
-
Meet u all there at the Wycombe.

-
It was a great evening. A quick bevvy, followed by a gentle ride up to Kalamunda and then down the old Zig-Zag switch-back in twilight with a full-moon. Then headed to Guildford for some grub (not me - work to do).
I captured quite a bit of video - to be posted here soon. Thanks guys for organising it. :hatwave
To top off the evening, I'll be getting a surprise in the mail soon confirming my lack of attention and frustration with the GPS getting me lost.... that was the first time ever I've run a red light. Luckily I had only moved about 5m into the intersection. Still $150 + 3 points though. :|||| :spank :cuss :law
-
Bugger... Sorry to hear that. Was a great evening and sweet scenery at that time of night. Nice to meet you as well.

Pezzz did it again with reverse parking, look at the skid marks on his front tyre.
-
Found out about this at 7pm last night and thought I was too late, spoke to Pezzz this morning and found you didn't get to Alfred's until 8.30, I could have made it.

This was taken on my new Replay XD720 camera.
Bit dark and shaky but still getting used to it.

-
Well done, the Zig-Zag is a great ride.
-
Great Vid but I think I should brush up on my riding skills. :whistle General info about the Zig Zag was for log trains going back and forward to get to the top at Kalamunda.
:wht11
-
I am short on a coffee fix so I plan to go to Mundaring Dome or there abouts Thursday night 27th. :beer May be good opportunity for Ballarat discussion for who is going. :think1 Time undersided as yet but may go through Kalamunda to Mundaring to be there at about 7.30. All are welcome to join in even HD riders :nahnah

Bike hasn't been ridden for over a month now, hope battery is still OK. Tyres are flat. Covered in spider webs and dust from the blower vac. As it hasn't moved for some time, it now became a shelf. SHAME.
-
So long as there are no birds. .....
I won't be driving a Bayswater Hire car. I'll be in the ST instead. :rofl
-
7:30 works for me.
-
Missed out on the last one but I'm keen for the 27th have been overwhelmed with too much work this year so far. Put me down!
-
Hey Dave,
Don't know where you got your OzSTOC sign on name from but you should watch the latest episode of "Blacklist"
-
Hi Glen, had the name alchemist for years, originated from the band "alchemist" but not that keen on black metal these days ;)

Bugger ....
I am still in. What time you going to get to Kalamunda? I will meet you guys there and ride through to Mundaring with you all.
-
Ok the thought is I am leaving Gosnells at 6.10 to be at Dome Kalamunda about 6.30. Meet and greet then leave at 7.00 to be in Mundaring Dome at 7.30. I will ring them with about 6-8 for a table or will take chance.
:wht11

I just lost my second low beam bulb today and don't have any spares. Was hoping to hold out until the clutch so I only had to strip screen etc once. Will try super cheap tomorrow or just ride on high beam.

Spoke to Fiona at Dome, Mundaring this afternoon, closing time is 8pm, kitchen starts closing at 7:30, if ewe have a booking they can stay open later, I booked for 6-10 under Ozstoc. I suggest we do the right thing and try for 7ish as they will have to pay O/T.
Pezzz, Hi-Beam should be OK if you adjust your headlight as low as it will go, just leave the spots off.
-
Google says 1/2 hour to go between Dome Kalamunda and Dome Mundaring via Weir.
Why not meet at Dome Mundaring at 7 then when time to go head back via the Weir and i will head down the zigzag to go home .....
Sounds like a plan to me .... :nahnah
Oh.. i got some new globes today. Just Narva 55/60 +50 that someone on here suggested in the thread. SCA don't do any H6 globes so i stuck with H4. Hopefully they last longer than my previous ones. Just need to get motivated to put them in tomorrow.
-
Have a busy day that day but if home in time I should be there.
My busy day is with a mate who has an evening appointment so chances are now good that I will be there and Theresa may also come.
-
Update Theresa has a hairdressers appointment

Keep on firing on all cylinders.

Thanks HOFFY all good now.
Let's kick off another ride for next week, who's keen? Wednesday or Friday evening?
Who was it on the first ride I met, that had made up a plate to go between their ST1100's forks to reduce the road noise?

that would be me and I am making one for hoffy this weekend so i will add you to the list if i can find more ali although I still have the perspex one that Yorkie made and is on my STead. All license fees and cudos to Yorkie. :grin
Wednesday is good although I am having coffee and bite to eat in Mandurah Thursday night
:wht11
-
Thanks Pezzz and Wombat. That would be absolutely terrific please!! Any fees I'm happy to pay :) Perspex or ally either way. Thanks heaps. The road noise is driving me insane as I've been clocking up a fair bit of time commuting on the steed almost every day now.
Next Thursday night? I'd join ya if that's an invite and if you were riding there :)
-
Thursday riding with mate to see another mate and last night before the boss gets home ;-* so it may be fish and chips by the sea shore. All are welcome. ++ Final decision next week though :grin
:wht11
-
OK for all you southern metro people I am going to the Dome Halls Head parade on Thursday night. Leaving Gosnells about 5.45 then to Murdoch for 6.15 then to Halls Head for 7.00. All are welcome as usual and I will get a table if I know some numbers. Coffee and eats. They close about 9.00 so plenty of time for chatting. Route down and back negotiable.
-
Sounds good to me, are you able to come via Safety Bay rd and I'll join up with you at the Calex?
I also have a friend who would be keen, he lives in Gosnells and will come from there, He does ride a viagra though :)

:wht11
-
Thanks Wombat, Yep turn right onto Safety Bay Rd and Caltex is just up the road half a km from there. Then could just shoot through to Ennis ave on Safety bay rd and head south to Halls Head if that's ok?
He's keen, should have his bike back by then. His name is Tom, thanks!
-
Grandfather duties that night for me.
-
Just got a notification on Facebook that Grill'd in Cottesloe is having it's opening this Friday and is giving away free burgers :hatwave :hatwave
Maybe a run on Friday this week as well? I am going to Cott tonight for the sculptures by the sea so i will see if i can find address.
-
Thats certainly a possibility for me Pezz, as I will have time for a nap before going.
I knock off at midday on fridays
-
Might see you all there
:wht11
-
Great turnout last night with 7 bikes in total.
Pezzz now you've made me want to get some spotties happening :crackup
-
A nice gathering of white
-
Great night as usual and good company. :clap 8 bikes with Bloodbikes meeting us at Dome. :beer Good chat but I dont understand the discussion about the possible position of the makeup mirror in my topbox. :spank
Hoffy tested out his spotties on some rabbits on the way back through the bush but all is good. No animals harmed in the production of the ride. :rofl
Dave how did the baffle plate go. :think1
Thanks again to all involved :rockon
:wht11
-
That's right, 8 bikes in total :grin
Great company indeed and perfect weather as well, not too cold or hot!
Dave how did the baffle plate go. :think1
Baffle plate made a huge difference, normally there's a pretty bad consistent noise there especially the road near my place, could barely hear it. Thanks heaps for that Bill :thumbs
-
Who would be interested in a coffee run this Wednesday night? Mandurah would be ideal with a meet point of Caltex Safety Bay Rd/Freeway around 7pm ?
-
Not sure this week. Helping Bill with his motorcycle makeover and will be out Tuesday probably buying a new trailer for father in law.
-
I am out this week. Doing a makeover ready for the winter solstice. Should be back on road again after next week.
:wht11
-
No problems guys, perhaps next week same time/location if you're keen?! :)
-
You blokes heading down tonight? Not sure if I can make it yet, need to check in with the boss lady...
-
I am laid up with flu and have a course tomorrow.
-
Need final shake down ride before Cue FarRide so coffee night is on the cards this week. Any suggestions :grin
:wht11
-
I could do Mundaring or Alfreds
-
Always up for Alfred's. What night?
Bill, ask Pete to come along too and I will let Barry know.
-
thursday night about 7 at Alfreds. :eat :eat :eat Anyone from the south interested and time is negotiable. Hows Brock and Poppy Dave fixed. Havent seen them for a while. Could do an early Zig Zag before. >:()

Okay so let's do another coffee run. This time we'll revisit going to Hillarys Boat Harbour from Beelair again!
How does Wednesday 9th sound to everyone?
Meet: Wed 9th of July @ 630pm (Depart 640pm) from Maccas at Gateway Shopping Centre, Cockburn
Route: Will run down towards the coast, through Fremantle and up the coast stopping at Scarborough then continue up to Hillarys for a coffee
Map reference: https://goo.gl/maps/E7aAS
Estimated time of arrival: approx 8pm
-
Same school break as Bindoon so I am out.

I'm usually cleaning up and getting ready for bed at that time, so a no from me. :-[

I had a leave pass approved as well .....
Oh well ... next time ....

Sorry HOFF didn't see any confirmation that you were definitely going :o
None of my local bike riders wanted to tag along either :fp
Going to focus on replacing the knock sensor wiring on the ST this evening, aiming to get it going properly for Sunday as I won't get any time on Saturday to work on it.

Best of luck Dave, Hope you get it sorted .... us 1100 fellas don't have all dem 'lectric thingameebobs to worry about... :butt :butt
-
Not a real problem, still packing for my trip so this will make sure I leave on time.
Not sure what a knock sensor is but enjoy yourself and keep the heaters on.
May see you on Sunday if all goes well.
-
Thanks guys
Silly electrics on the 1300 didn't think it would be this bad... but the wiring looks shot because of the exhaust... The wire fell out of the plug so will be an interesting night ahead :)

Whats the history on your 1300 and is it the o2 sensor wiring from heat ?

Turtle
Ex police, 86,000kms full servicing by Honda until mid last year I am lead to believe. O2 sensors and wiring is OK it is just the knock sensor on the RHS (FI 26 code) that is reporting an issue. Checked the wiring this morning and it was pretty below average.

Ok the caffeine levels are down so how about Alfreds Wednesday night about 6. The weather should be reasonable by then. The fires should be burning and the pea soup on the stove.

If it could be Tuesday night Theresa and I would be there??
-
I am easy but not cheap! Up to everybody just looking at weather
:wht11

Fair call about the weather and happy for a majority rule. I am cheap but not easy as I will be in Sydney Wednesday.
-
Fat club has started again for Mrs HOFFY on Tuesdays so Tuesday is good for me.
-
If weather is good, I should be there.

Northbridge is like Alan to me, "Alan, who the F is Alan."
No I work just up the road from you at Canning Vale But don't tell anyone.

OK, wont tell, just thought you may have known Matt Wood
-
If I had 24hrs notice I would be there now, plus it would have got me out of having to cook for the worker of the house.

Sorry Yorkie, for only giving you 21 hrs notice. Had a bit of a contest to get the puter off the opposition.
Will try harder next time and may even buy you a coffee on the weekend.

Ok it's been a while... anyone keen on a Wednesday night run? I suggest we meet centrally e.g. Gateways BP approx 715 for a 730 departure, then do a river run ending up at Dome cafe on the river in Fremantle for a coffee. Anyone keen?

Are you thinking this Wednesday? If so I am 90 % but just to meet you at Dome.
If so more questions
Where is the Dome and what time are you likely to arrive?
-
Awesome Wombat !!
Yeah this Wednesday, it's at 26 Riverside Road East Fremantle we will arrive around 815ish
So meeting Cockburn Gateway BP at 715pm leaving 730pm and will be doing the southern river leg through to Dome east fremantle, all at a leisurely pace.
Hope a few others can make it too
-
It will be past my bedtime by the time I could get there, so I will have to pass.

You could leave work little early, have a quick nap at home then go straight to work after Dome and be there early for the next day.

Glen,
I knock of at 1500, battle the traffic to Kinross (yes, I know no-one goes there) and get home by 1600. After a nap, it would be time to get back on the bike and fight the traffic again, to get to a meeting point where we all then set off to battle traffic to get to some where to sit down for a while with a drink.
Then I would have to ride for yet another hour, so that I could have an hours sleep (not enuff thats for sure, I aint 18 any more) before I have to battlae the traffic for an hour to get to work.
Also, I would use a days petrol all for a cuppa... ( riding 2 hrs to have breakfast in the country is a different matter so I wont go there.. Oh wait, I was there the other suday).
Now where was I, I forget....... Oh well, it must be bed time.
P.S.
Its bloody hot.. :H :H :H
-
Anyone else keen to catch up? It will be a nice ride tonight.
-
I'm planning to be at Cockburn Gateway BP at 715pm.

Great nights riding. Agree on the venue too. Thought I might be there a while when the STead wouldn't turn over but all is good with a cool ride down the freeway along Mundijong road and back to Gosnells.
Thanks guys :clap
