Fortunately these guys :law don't have to pay for the repairs when they drop them.................and they do drop them >:()........many times, before they're competent to compete in trials. I wouldn't mind playing around in a shopping centre carpark :runyay if I didn't have to pay for the repairs when things didn't go quite right :spank.
There are many paths to the top of the mountain.....but we all need to find our own way!

Yer itd be pretty handy if the crims were to run through some cones trying to escape i guess lol ... I want to get a set of those pannier guards (or whatever they are) in front of the panniers. Would be so useful for keeping my young fellas legs off the panniers as well as the whole "Incase i drop it" argument i will put fwd to the minister of finance   :crackup

Apache,

The guards you see in those photos, if memory serves me correctly, attach where the pillion foot-pegs go so you'd be loosing the rear foot-pegs if you fitted them. There are others out there that attach to the frame so the foot-pegs stay in place. I have a set from MotorCycleLarry.com and they look good. I know that West Aussie Glen has some from another maker but I can't remember who.

If you're really interested in some, ask questions here on the site and I'm sure people will give you the heads up on them.

Take care,

As a bloke who has managed to gently deck his bike three times, can't see the point in the extra iron.
Might be different on the move but if you drop the bike while stopped (Eg get of thinking sidesand down, my excuse 800kms and very tired) then the rubbers stop it all.
Now been over on both sides and not a mark on mirrors, bars or panniers. Last attempt was with all boxes full of luggage on the Adelaide trip. Had the side stand down while waiting for Wellington ferry and when rode onto ferry just forgot I had moved and stepped of the bike, kabang. Lucky the pillion had already got off.
Never under estimate the predictability of stupidity.
