Romantic Ride
« on: January 22, 2012, 04:05:08 PM »
My darlin asked if i would like to go to Jamestown  on  :bl11 for fish and chips by the creek, ducks join us and eat most of our bread.

When we we left we went the long way home via Apilla and Orrorro and back home to Peterborough.  >:()

What he didn't say was that after the romantic meal by the creek that I needed to take a towel and have a shower, should have taken an eski as well. Not only did I get wet, but could have collected some ice along the way back home.  We went through a thunderstorm. Got home, boots full of water and soaked to the skin, I still luv him.....lol. One of life's mis-adventures.

Nothing better than an interesting day out!  I get in trouble if the weather outside the car looks iffy....so I ride alone it seems...

That riding in the rain stuff is an acquired taste and a very unforgiving error of judgement. Convinced Mrs. Skip to do our first road trip back in August. Out of the 7 days away, we had 2 fine days of riding. Most weren't too bad. However, on our last day from Port Macquarie to Brissy it was torrential. A couple of hours from home, I asked if she'd like a break. She said "If you stop and I get off, I won't be getting back on". Needless to say I didn't stop until I rode into the garage. Thought August would have been a good time to ride. Cool and fine. Dooh. Never mind. I still have both. The missus and the bike, so all must be forgiven.

Getting wind in my hair while I still have some.

I don't mind the riding in the rain, as once you are out and going somewhere you just deal with it.  Having to deal with a pillion or other riders in a group is a different matter,...

Nice one Wildfireangel - when Qld had the floods just over a year ago (here we go again by the looks of things lately too), it seemed every time we tried to organise a ride, the heavens opened up - even if it was fine through the week!         :cuss

Thought of starting up OzJSOC instead - Australian Jet Ski Owners Club!        :crackup

At least the day was memorable for a couple of other things as well.

Cheers, Diesel
