Title: VFR levers
Post by: HunterTodd on July 06, 2014, 04:49:44 PM
Following the advice to change to VFR 800 levers to resolve a clutch issue I found these levers on Fleabay. Is this the sort thing that most of you are buying or do you buy genuine?

They are obviously Chinese with all the risk that entails but I just wondered if any of you have had success with them. They are cheap enough.

Here is a link for the clutch lever alone (Black)

Have a hunt around for something that suits you. I fitted a set years ago, and apart from the finish wearing off they are fine (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-VFR-750-VFR800-VTR-1000-CBR-1100xx-Clutch-Lever/200797759466?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042[/url)

Reading the various eBay adverts, anything that fits the VFR and Blackbird will also fit the ST1300.
There are a lot of types advertised in there, some hideous and some quite attractive.  Some in Taiwan, some in USA.  Plain "silver" ones are available to match the brake lever.  Not dirt cheap, but mostly under $50 delivered.

I'm looking at putting one on because my arthritic fingers hate the clutch span.  Then I'll put the original in the pannier as insurance again breaking the lever anytime.

I bought some brake n clutch levers for the VFR800 advertised as also fitting the ST1300 but when I went to fit them they did not fit properly, the EBay seller said they only fitted up to early 2008, of course my bike had to be the next model along . . . Don't know why they would change the lever configuration but they did in the later half of 2008 . . .
