To dine and drink, I thought we would try:"The Old Brick Oven Bakery"

Approximate Eating Time: 12.30pm at the Bakery

OzSTOC Events are not group rides, so you can come straight to Rylstone , or you can meet up with other members and take the windy way, it is completely up to you :thumbsup

If you have friends with other styles of bikes who you would like to bring along, they are more than welcome :thumb

Those riding from the Sydney area might like to meet up at the Shell at point "B" on the map (place called Bowenfels just east of Lithgow) fuel/coffee/all day breakfast etc around 10.00am. Leave for Rylstone around 10.30am.

If coming from the North, the Bylong Valley Way is getting busy by the cold seam gas people (another whole new story) so get in sooner then later.

I'm leaving Canberra at 0730, riding thru Gundaroo, Gunning, Crookwell, Taralga, Oberon, Bathurst, Soffala to Rylstone. Anyone want to join me on the ride or just turn up at the Rylstone Bakery for Lunch?

Yes, I was also thinking of staying overnight on Saturday night in Rylstone or somewhere not too far away from there, either Denman and then back via the Putty on Sunday, or maybe Oberon on the way back thru Taralga to Canberra . .

Stayed at this one on the way to Toowoomba 2015 - kandoshotel.com.au (http://kandoshotel.com.au)- eastside of railway, motel rooms only, good meal, clean rooms.

One on west side of railway sold it's license just before the 2000 Olympics, license went to an establishment in Sydney. Both owned by the same guy (in 2015), no point in trying to get a better deal.

We will meet at the bakery and discuss whether to eat there or cafe 47 a few doors down on the same side of the street or possibly the pub across the road . . Any ideas?

I have lathered the exterior glass with rain x and the interior with fog off. It was high single digits and foggy between Dalby and Moonie this morning. Wasn't too flash.

With the forecast for snow I too will be driving 'Vulva" the Volvo, and bringing the flag for photos. Even though I put a new front tyre on STrangler today.. and I have all my Zarkie heated gear... I'll be much warmer in the car.. and STroppy I have your table.

I fueled up the ST11 when I left in the morning and did exactly 500kms from servo to servo with the needle going to the red but with 6 litres till empty, damn good I say.

I left home when I'd normally be rolling over in bed trying not to wake up.
I had put a new tyre on STrangler on Friday, but with snow forecast I took 'Vulva' the Volvo, and Terry asked if I could bring his table left in the coffin from our Tassie trip, so at 8-10am I drove out the drive. I went my normal back roads across thru The Oaks Mulgoa and onto Richmond then up Bells Line of Road, stopping in Lithgow at Macca's for coffee,, then onto Rylstone arriving at 12, just as Terry ph'd to say where are you?
It was as stated above a good turnout considering the cold and I met RickSTer our new member and all the other familiar faces..
I had the roast which was good, and chatted mostly about the upcoming National Rally, it seemed the topic of the day...
After lunch it was out with the flag, which I remembered to bring in Vulva's warmth cavernous box oops boot.. then it was chats outside as everyone headed off.
I headed off and passed JuST Peter with Terry not far behind me in the Merc, until he turned off towards snow. I went home back along Bells Line and Mulgoa and got fuel for 129.9 at Castlereagh and continued home arriving about 5.05pm. I used 1/2 a tank of juice which I thought was good. This was the first time since Balranald 'Vulva' had gone further than the hospital, and she kept me nice and warm :H , handled my driving and loved the curves on the Bell's line. :grin
It was great having a good attendance at this RTE and look forward to the next one at Wiseman's Ferry before the trip to Mackay..

Next time you go up that way, the 711 next to Lithgow Macca's sells really good coffee for $1 and an even better hot chocolate for $2. The only downside is there's no place to park ya bum :grin
