These have been around for quite some years, and probably a better design by now. The first one I ever saw was back in the mid '70's on an Army overnight range shoot.
At least if you go walkies in the middle of the night you won't get cold tootsies

 I have just bought a new modular compact Gortex sleeping bag  to replace my older compact down bag, great bag but hates to get wet and is getting on......my other sleeping bag is a King single Darche rated to -12 (comfort) that lives inside my B&W swag but is just to bulky for the bike.....

At the risk of looking like "Gumby"  if I order it in green, it looks like a flamin good idea!

As indicated, I'm not a camper. But if I had one of those I'd want the boy's one with a fly. Be a huge annoyance climbing out of it for the mid-sleep drain.

Back in the late 70's, one of my army mates had one that his wife tailor-made for him. He was a big guy, didn't fit a standard sleeping bag. We were on top of Mt Donna Buang, Vic. for a fortnight on an army exercise .... it had a double ended zipper, neck to crotch, which allowed him to take care of nature calls without having to de-bag.
We were all envious. Was so cold there that I had two sets of tonsils.....
Had to shave quickly in the mornings, or the hot shaving water would freeze solid.

The exercises I did while in the RAAF involved Motels/Hotels, hot water and restaurant meals...

Unfortunately, I was part of 'Field Force', and the luxuries applied to the RAAF do not apply to the Army. WE called first light 'dawn'... whereas the RAAF calls it 9 am 
There are no Hotels or Motels where we were located, for instance, Exercise 'West Address' ... 200 people, 3 months on the ground, an hour and a half drive north east of Meekatharra, WA.... 197....8, 9?
I was lucky, being first advance deployment, to set up power supplies for the camp a week ahead of main task force...
Thanks to the RAAF, I was flown in early... took best part of a week in a truck convoy to return to Melbourne at completion of the exercise.
