Great that it happened!  We may be able to say the ACT/NSW RTE is a touch chilly too, but who cares once the sun gets out :)  Our report will follow tomorrow.

Great report Alan, unfortuantly our photos weren't as good as yours, the hotel lounge was a very dark room which didn't help, but it was great to catch up other South Aussie ST riders, Phil, Mel & myself rode back to Adelaide together parting company at Anzac Highway, dry until then, leaving Phil we followed ahead along South Road and then the skys opened up, very dark, wet & peak hour traffic coming from Adelaide, it was a great day & must do it again some time, Pete

Meeting with the other SA members at Saddelworth on Saturday was a most enjoyable experience. I left Roxby Downs at 6.50am with the ambient temperature reading -1. This was the first time i have used the grip warmers on the highest setting (they are a very worthwhile investment). Though the air was chilly it was a "comfortable cold", the ST's provide great protection from  the air flow. Got to Pt. Augusta around 9.30 where it was a blistering 6 degrees, had a quick coffee, fuel and other things then headed off. Met a guy on at the servo riding a Harley who had travelled up from Kadina on route to Darwin. Turned out he works up at Olympic Dam also. Took the Horrocks pass road, that winds its way through the Flinders, with the GoPro camera capturing the ride. A great ride if you dont catch a caravan or other slow movers (which luckily I didnt). Out the other side and heading to Wilmington into FOG. Thick fog all the way to Melrose, which was no big deal, just had to watch the centre line on the road. When it became an unbroken line I figured it was either a bend or a rise so rode accordingly. Got to Saddelworth around 12.30ish and spotted the other bikes. I was greeted by the others and introductions all round. None of us had met before yet from the way the conversations flowed you would have thought we had been doing this for years. ST owners!...................we're a friendly bunch (probably because our bikes are great rides). The pub was very good and the manageress was very hospitable, we should definately do this again. Well done Allan for initiating this and hopefully we can get a few more owners out of the woodwork in future. Its an unusual sight to see SO MANY STs in the same place in SA.
When we left I headed off with Pete and Mel to Adelaide and parted company just before Anzac Highway and the rain (note to self change iridium visor to clear before it gets dark and wet - raindrops hitting the eyeballs is like acupuncture). Next morning left at around 8.00am for home. Decided to take the same route home rather than Main North road, I need to get some side wall wear on the rear tyre. Sighted Ray on his way back from Melrose around Gulnare. Quick stop off in Pt. Augusta for some Hungrys and then back on the straight road to Roxby. All up a 1250km round trip.
Well worth every kilometre, the "Big Girl" and myself needed to get away and it was made more enjoyable by the great company. Look forward to the next catch up.
Cheers
Phil

Sorry I missed catching up with other SA Members, but Chris and I were at the William Creek Pub on the 23rd, as part of our "Oodnadatta Track" adventure.   Here's us at the pub.....

Nothing to be unhappy about as we were celebrating Chris's birthday.   I'm eating my first kangaroo parmy, 'cause there's not a lot of chickens running around at William Creek, but the Postie Bike Challenge riders were there in force.  :crazy

I had intended to go this year, aiming for an initial 1000 km FarRide, but I've been away so much that I've decided to give it a miss.
