Top Box Removal
« on: November 24, 2014, 08:53:03 AM »
Hi All,

can anyone explain the procedure for removing the top box, never hade to do it before. (some Pickie's would be nice) I need to remove an old bracket that is under my top box from an old comms system.  :think1

Do you mean "lift the bottom handle under the latch"?

That's all it takes.  Once lifted, the box will slide forward and free of the mounting plate.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I think he might be talking about removing the mounting plate the Top Box clips onto.

Once you have the Top box off. there are 6 Hex head bolts under oval shaped plastic caps.

To remove the plastic caps you use a small screwdriver in the slots marked with arrows and then you can access the Hex head bolts.  There are plastic washers underneath the bolts and you have to remove them before you remove the plate.

Cheers,
Gary
