Note to self
« on: October 14, 2012, 06:45:02 AM »
So after yesterdays ride me thinks I should check things before they go on bike :think1
When you start the SPOT Tracker, if the light flashes Red, the Batteries need recharging :thumb
Check the Battery charge in the Bike Cam before you put it on the bike :thumb
Check the Battery charge in the Bike UHF before it goes on the bike.
Yeap everything was flat. They all take rechargeable batteries, Sanyo Eneloop, but I forgot they can go flat.
But how kool is it they all go flat at the same time :runyay

The Eneloops are great batteries. How do you fond they last (when charged!) in the SPOT? I have seen many comments about the SPOT being picky about batteries and not going for long on rechargeables.  If rechargeables are ok that would reuce the running costs a bit.

I have Eneloop Batteries in AAA and AA and for me they do the job, and do it well.
I have read a fair bit on the SPOT in relation to Battery life and in the past 6/8 months this is the first time I have replaced them. Maybe all up 4/5/6 thousand kays
I use the OK message, say every 150kays and the Message service every time I stop
The SPOT Site says 3 months????????

I think it is the continuous tracking function that chews the batteries.  But good to know that more basic use is ok, which is what I am more interested in.
