Our hosts for the NatRally 2024
Friday March 15 to Sunday 17 March 2024
at Mansfield will be the High Country Holiday Park
https://highcountryholidaypark.com.au/
The Holiday Park is located approx. 600m or an 8 minute walk from the centre of town, and plenty of other accommodation
options as well as food and drink venues, and anything that should be needed for up to a week or so in Mansfield.
The Holiday Park is a total package 26 cabins, acres of powered and unpowered sites and a camp kitchen.
At this stage the Holiday Park is reserved for OzSTOC. This is currently until mid-October 2023, after that members wishing to stay
at the Holiday Park risk missing out on a cabin or site as management will start taking bookings from the general public.
The standard of cabins range from basic to very good, a few of us stayed there on a recent overnighter, Helen and I had a studio cabin,
basically a very modern motel style room, extra large en suite and under cover parking - just a nice little bonus of the motorcycles. Tariffs are also
very reasonable, and for those booking DIRECT with mangement get an OzSTOC 10% discount - you gotta mention OzSTOC when booking.
Holiday Park bookings will need to be via the telephone (or in person I suppose) because
the Holiday Park is currently reserved for OzSTOC, internet bookings are not possible.
There are plenty of other accommodation options, I won't list them, if you are reading this you know how to do a Google search.
There's another events on at Mansfield that weekend, so don't procrastinate booking your accommodation.
All that's left for you to do now is put the date in your calendar, get your leave approved, book your
accommodation, post your intention in this thread, and keep your eye on this thread for updates and info.

* Michael & Helen

Knowing Wendy, she'll want to ride via Perth, Darwin, Cairns and Hobart.
Regardless, can I add you both to the list?

Just stumbled across this little nugget and was surprised by the short turnaround from Mudgee.
I have not worked out my plans for October yet :o
I would suggest plastering this all over the 2 FB pages NOW because of the looming exclusive use booking cut off and the March date.

Starting to look as if I'm going to miss my first one after an unbroken record. The early date clashes with the IBA Muster. Can't understand the need for the super-early date, but there's obviously good reasons yet-to-be-revealed.
Bill, are you happy for me to leave you and Mrs B in the list until you have confirmed?

Hi Leo, I'm sure many will share any hesitation in a willingness to commit, however the High Country Holiday Park has a very generous refund policy - full refund provided if cancellation is made more the 7 days prior to your booking. I'll leave it to you to determine any risk in booking and being able to attend, subject to timing of your knee op.

As registrations for Mudgee are closed, and as I didn't want too much Mansfield talk to distract people from Mudgee, I now present a comprehensive update on Mansfield 2024.
Garry (ppopeye) and I visited Mansfield last week, chatted to the High Country Holiday Park Manager (Jude - a very nice lady), and can confirm the following:
• All cabins and some caravan sites are on-hold (some sites released already for the public) for OzSTOC until Thursday 12 October, 2023.
• Only one Deluxe Studio Cabin (with under cover parking) unit left.
• There are still 14 cabins of various standard (standard, deluxe, old, new), and a 3 bedroom / 6 bed cottage still available.
• There 30 powered sites and 5 unpowered sites at the park.
• We have use of the Camp Kitchen for the Friday meet & greet, not exclusive as it may need to be shared with other Holiday Park guests.
This all means that we have more than the basics of very good site to use a the base for the NatRally.
If you want to secure yourselves a cabin or a camping site you have 3 weeks left to book, after Thursday 12 October, the HCHP will be taking bookings from the general public.
When booking, book direct to receive the OzSTOC discount you must mention OzSTOC, the discount does not apply if you book through Booking.com or Last Minute Deals, etc...
Saturday Evening Dinner - a venue has been booked, we have a private dining room (holds 60 plus), a normal pub à la carte menu, as well as the senior's menu - that should suit many of us.
Again, more than the basics.
So come on all, now that it clear between now and March 2024, it's time for more to make a commitment - although as indicated in the previous post, if you have a change of circumstances, HCHP will provide a full refund if you cancel more that 7 days prior to your booking - can't get much better than that, perhaps that's something a certain Big4 that could learn.
-
Only 14 more sleeps....
.... for you secure a cabin or camping site at the High Country Holiday Park or risk not getting a cabin or sites as remaining (to date) cabins or site have been booked by the general public.

Whilst cabins and sites at the HCHP are now open to the general public, with Phil's & Pete's recent booking, cabins are still available, so get in early.
And remember the very generous cancellation policy, full refund available for cancellations made more than 48 hours before your stay - so folks, let's book, if plans change, cancel early and receive a refund.

Today's Update
I stopped at Mansfield today on the way home from Mudgee. As of 1:00pm, this is what is still available in terms of cabins:
- 2 x Deluxe studio cabins - these are the ones with undercover parking adjacent to the entrance door.
- 1 x Ensuite cabin
- 1 x Spa unit - some of these have two bedrooms and undercover parking, you will need to check when booking.
- 1 x Deluxe three bedroom cabin - this has a 1 x double, 1 x bunks, 1 x twin beds.
- 1 x 3 bedroom house - this has two bathrooms, suitable (Jude, the manager said) for three couples.
Also, please remember:
- When booking, mention OzSTOC for your 10% discount.
- Full refund if cancellation is more than 48 hours prior to your booking.
- Probably best to book through Jude, she is really well on top of everything.
- Rates for the above cabins vary (d'oh!), Jude will be able to explain, cabin details and rates.
There are also plenty of powered and unpowered sites available.
-
After reviewing all options Theresa and I will miss Mansfield. HCHP were kind enough to put a cabin on hold over the last few days but this morning I rang and cancelled.

It would have been a good effort to alter you NZ plans and squeeze Mansfield 2024 into your itinerary. Thanks for trying, butc'est la vie , see you in 2025, wherever that might be.
Update
Yesterday's update on cabin availability took into account Glen's tentative booking, so this would now mean that the following are still available:
- 3 x Deluxe studio cabins - these are the ones with undercover parking adjacent to the entrance door.

Don't forget the 10% OzSTOC discount when booking direct and the very generous cancellation policy, full refund available for cancellations made more than 48 hours before your stay - so folks, let's book, if plans change, cancel early and receive a refund.
-
Diesel is IN!
I'll be in the tin top and van though. Will try for the HCHP tomorrow.

I thought that would be the case Leo, and worked very hard with HCHP management on this matter - well, just read their conditions. It's a pity some Big4 aren't as flexible, but best I'll end it at that, aye!
-
For those not wishing to stay at the HCHP, there are plenty of other accommodation options in and around Mansfield. Although there are far too many to list, here's a recommendation from a member of the BIKER Friendly Pubs & Accommodation Australia Facebook group.
(You will probably need to join the group to see the post in full.)
Walking distance to the HCHP and our dinner pub venue, as well as two other pubs and a local craft brewery.

I've rearranged my ride plans to fit in the Ironbutt Muster in Echuca and the OzSTOC Rally. It means Mrs Biggles can't attend, and I can't get to Mansfield until Saturday afternoon. I have a cabin booked for Friday and Saturday nights. Before I cancel the Friday night, does anyone want to take over the booking and let me just have a bed on Saturday night?

Danny got all excited thinking he was going to be the last man standing, I told him not to count you out too quickly... you'll be there haha

Good organising skills Bill. Sounds like you'll have at least 1600km under your belt by the time you get to Mansfield.
Only 116 more sleeps until the NatRally, 117 for Bill.

I've shared enough cabins to know how lucky the hearing impaired are to not bear darkened witness to the horrors of belching, farting, night screams and random conversations with traffic cops. Sometimes i even wake myself up.

There ya go again- confusing your dream-life with real life! I've never overnighted in Nambucca Heads. Coffs Harbour is the nearest, and I can only recall Mrs Biggles being in the room with me there. :p

Add me as well.
Unless someone has as a spare room in their cabin & would like to share the cost, I'll drive over with the vintage camper trailer & have that as my accommodation.
Luckily, my Nephew is getting married in the Yarra Valley on the Thursday before the Rally, so not too far away.

I'm sure a spare bed will be available, but it would be worthwhile booking yourself a site, just in case. Either way, we now have:

Finally (for now), there has been much going on behind the scene re. NatRally 2024 Mansfield arrangements, in particular:
- Polo shirt / T-shirt, patch & pin design has been finalised
- Saturday evening dinner venue booked
- Sponsors & supporters are on-board
- Friday meet & great arrangements are progressing
- Some Saturday ride & RTE suggestions are progressing
- Registrations are likely to open pre-Christmas
As you can see, we are well organised and confident that NatRally 2024 Mansfield will be a fantastic event and no one will be disappointed. So (if you haven't already) book your leave, plan your trip, book your accommodation and post your intention.
I'll check with HCHP today re. remaining availability of cabins and / or sites and post an update later.
See youse all in March, 2024.

Mansfield Caravan Park for them & us as well - HCHP didn't have sites long enough for our campers when I rang them
-
Late notice but I'm pondering whether we might come. HCHP is out of cabins (understandably) so I checked the nearby Mansfield Valley Motor Inn. Their booking site shows a 3-night stay in a Queen Room to cost a monstrous $1060 compared to $500 2 weeks earlier! I rang them and received a price of $650, but it still seems to me like they are milking a busy weekend.
Is anyone else going who has missed out on HCHP, and if so did you get a decent rate elsewhere?

Sicman mentioned above that they and some others are at Mansfield Caravan Park (a coupla km away on other side of town). Others have previously stayed at the Delatite pub. The Mansfield Hotel (venue for our dinner) also has rooms.

Which caravan park Joso?
Just checked High Country Holiday Park website, they’re fully booked, nothing available at any $$.
Also just checked Mansfield Holiday Park (where Sicman, ST2UP, CallmeSteve are staying), they still have powered sites for $40 per night, see pic.
-
Actually I’m not at the MHP. I can’t remember why - I did call them - I can’t recall whether they were full or were one of the joints doing opportunistic gouging. Rustynutz pointed me to a local AirBnB at a great price.

Thanks for the clarification.
Re. HCHP, today I talked directly with Jude, the manager, she advised:
1. All cabins booked.
2. The 3 bedroom cottage is still available, suitable for 6 or more, $400 per night.
3. Some Caravan sites still available at $40 per night. Don’t book via a booking site or their website, call her direct.
Hope that clears things for you Joso.
Cheers …..

Already clarified Gary a little earlier in below post.

There must've been some crossed wires, but all uncrossed now.

Has that crossed the quote of $140 a night for a van site. .??

Caravan sites for $140 per night at the HCHP is a myth.
The attached pic shows what a search of their website indicated this AM.

I just had a look at them too and got a four figure amount and said yeah nah. My fault for leaving it so late as I didn't think I'd be able to register or get time off work. I've decided to 'commute' from Benalla.

I just called Jude at the High Country Caravan Park, she advised that they have some unpowered camp sites available.
If you don't mind camping, I think this would be preferrable to Benalla. You can call Jude on 0455 998 852.
Alternatively (if you haven't tried), Bonnie Doon or Merrijig would be better alternatives to Benalla.
Or, one of the local pubs, others have stayed at them.

It's showing rates but also saying no vacancy.
Strange...I was able to go through the booking procedure right up to where i needed to pay...
It also "held" the booking for a short time while i was going through the process... :think1

Good news. I succeeded this time so I'll be staying there and not Benalla. It turns out my card got flagged because I'd being trying to book a lot of places.
