Yet Another Pair Of New Gloves...
« on: August 15, 2023, 12:52:17 PM »
After installing my new Android Auto screen on the trusty ST I found my current "Held" gloves lacking as the "supposedly" touch sensitive
index finger actually wasn't so that seemed to be a good enough reason to shop around for another pair of Winter gloves...  :whistle

These are what I came up with:

               Ixon's Pro Apollo Gloves...

Here's the "blurb" about the gloves...

FEATURES:
  • Long cuff with tightening strap.
  • Elasticated wrist with tightening strap.
  • Flex leather on fingers.
  • Inner lining in very soft micropolar.
  • Index compatible with touch screens.
  • Inside cuff in padded fleece.
  • Inner lining in very soft micropolar.
  • Waterproof and breathable with integrated membrane.

SAFETY:
  • CE model.
  • TPR Knuckle protector on backhand.
  • Slider on bottom palm.
  • Reinforced sidewall and palm.

MATERIALS:
  • Backhand : goat leather.
  • Palm : goat leather.
  • Lining : polyester.
  • Insulation : warm Primaloft One® lining 60 +300gr.

Anyhow, these turned up in the mail today so stay tuned for my initial thoughts...  :thumbsup

Rusty, I bought some thread of E---y and sewed the thread into my finger tips of my gloves, works a treat.

But, that's defeats the purpose of purchasing the gloves.

Perhaps at the next RTE perhaps the lovely Mr Williamson can sew that thread for you, ST2UP told me to type this  :grin
At my age " getting lucky" is remembering what I came in the room for ;)

That's a level or three above my pay grade, might need to explain.

Yes, new gloves are always nice.

Oi!  How did I get dragged into this?

PS. The highway pegs fit nicely.

Hi Dave, I actually thought about buying some metallic thread but figured that wasn't gonna do the waterproofing of my gloves any good.
I read somewhere that dry graphite spray can work too so I actually tried it on my old gloves and it worked! What a shame I'd already ordered my new ones...  :whistle

Hmmm, so Michael is a wiz with a needle & thread is he? Funnily enough I always thought he was a bit of a sew and sew!  :grin :rofl Just kidding, Michael...honestly!!!  :Stirpot :Whipped

How often do you have to re-do this Rusty, do you know? I will have to try it myself.

An alternate spelling would be Flea-bay.

Yeah, I'm guess Rusty meant that he bought some thread off eBay.  Damn these spelling and grammar police.

No idea, Dave! It may have worked on my old gloves but no such luck with my new gloves!  :crazy

Love the BANTER, isn't nice to have Banter and no one gets "offended", just saying.

 :Blow

CallMeSteve is once again spot on with EBAY.

NOTE: make sure you sew near the tip of the glove finger you wish to use  ;-* I learnt the hard way.

Stay safe and take care

Yep, agreed.  Maybe that’s because we are all (or mostly) old farts.

Try telling a youngster “your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries” and see what response you get  :grin
