I told you not to leave in that bad weather John.

Gayle and I are wishing you all the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

Anyone know where his bike is, does it need storage etc?

Does anybody know what Perth Hospital? My son does two days a week at Royal Perth and is a doctor so would be able to call by and see if there is anything we can do for him.
Brock has spoken to Scott, my son, but unfortunately John is apparently in Fiona Stanley and not Royal Perth.

John's family is organising John's affairs including bike, belongings, etc.
Everyone has John's interests at heart but its best not to cut across what his family is doing in this regard.
Similarly, with respect to the hospital, he is getting the best of care, and when his condition improves and he goes back to the ward, his family will notify us. Even then he may not be allowed visitors for a while but we'll be notified when we will be able to visit him.

Well done Lionel.

I knew he would be getting the best attention he could but I would have hated to find that his bike had been left in the carpark in front of the hospital.

I will cancel what plans I was thinking.

Regards

According to his family there has been no change in John's condition. Like everyone else I was hoping for a notification of improvement after the weekend, following the specialist's visits today.
In Derby, John's gear and bike have been secured by the very helpful locals. The family are very pleased about the locals' assistance. They have decided to wait for John to recover sufficiently to tell them what to do about the bike. When he was about to be moved to Perth I asked him about his bike. His response was "We'll worry about that later."
Knowing John, he'll take some recovery time in Perth, Colac or back in Canberra. Then he'll probably fly back to Derby to continue his journey. I have no basis for saying that but I would rather remain optimistic.
I may not have enough information to provide a daily bulletin. But I will pass on any change in his condition.
Hang in there, John.

Hang in there mate.

Lionel,

Can you let his family know that I've made other arrangements for the 12th Sep, so he doesn't have to worry about getting back to Canberra in time for me. He needs to rest.
Cheers,
Gary

John, my thoughts are with you for a quick recovery  :Blow
Tell me if I'm out of place, but I was wondering,......after such a long ride...this wasn't some ploy to get a free bed, feed and nursing?.....was it? If it was, then  :like , if it wasn't, then  :-X  :'(

Still in our thoughts John

Pneumonia is a serious condition, it shouldn't be taken lightly by us (Not that it has), as I'm sure ST2UP, Pokey and Sicman can testify how big a battle lay before Saaz. So I encourage everyone to keep the positive thoughts going, if you've already post well wishes post more of them here. The power of positive thought, well wishes and prayer for those who pray.

We're all behind you Saaz
, keep fighting mate, we want to see you back on that bike..... ++
