Tyre Repair Kits
« on: December 07, 2011, 10:12:44 PM »
Having done a lot of rides in my time, I have to admit that I've only had a handfull of flat tyres & never out on the open road.
Now increasingly I hear from other riders that they would not venture out of the garage without Tyre plugs & gas inflaters.
So I've started to look around for a kit to carry on the bike, has anyone here had experience with these kits if so can you recomend a particular brand/ type?

while I was at the Sydney bike show, Tomcat Distribution had these on sale, and having seen them before, was keen to get a kit.

No messy plugs to stick your fingers together with and pretty simple to use - wind it in with a hex spanner, pull the excess back with a pair of pliers, and cut off the remains. :thumbsup
I also carry a Slime 12 volt air compressor much like Gavo's

Hi Scarp - check out this link as there is some very cool info contained within....

http://farriders.com/forum15/index.php?topic=3428.15

I also never leave home without the plugger kit, worms and a compressor.

Having done some roadside repairs, it is much better (for me) than to wait for the tow truck and watch your baby disappear coz you can't fix a simple nail or screw in the hoop.

Just got my tyre plugger kit, it seems well made. Just hope I never need it.

Now to mod my pump so it will plug in to the powerlet socket
